Description

APPLE INC has the following available in San Diego, California. Specify, design, and implement PHY L1 firmware for a state-of-the-art mobile wireless communication system. Implement critical scheduling and control processing within tight timelines while managing latency and energy constraints. Define interfaces to protocol stack, MAC/RRC, and required processor subsystems by working with Software Designers. Assist in the development of pre-silicon emulation systems/virtual platforms and use them for presilicon Ll FW design and verification. Evaluate and implement leading edge tools for build, formal verification, and testing. Define methodologies and standard methodologies. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $171,600 - $258,100/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation.

  • 5 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:

  • FW/SW design/development for modem development.

  • Using C or C++ to write low-level code for hardware control, real-time data processing, and communication protocol implementation.

  • Utilizing Computer architecture to create efficient, reliable, and optimized software that fully leverages the hardware capabilities of the system.

  • System software, including operating system - memory/thread management, RTOS, and interrupt management.

  • Utilizing wireless communications and protocols, including understanding of 3GPP, satellite communications standards or TCP/UDP network related standards.

  • Using GDB, tracing and Visual Studio tool to debug embedded software systems.

  • Using Shell, Perl, or Python Scripting to write scripts for modem logs analysis and debugging.
