The Enterprise Banking Center of Excellence is a team within Global Commercial Services (GCS) at American Express. We seek to expand the concept of Card membership through a curated set of financial services products that deliver differentiated value. We are looking for colleagues who enjoy building products and experiences from the ground up, have a strong external perspective and like to roll up their sleeves to accomplish common goals.

We are seeking a Director of Digital Product Management who will advance our banking vision by leading the delivery of core deposit products and experiences, with a particular focus on Account Governance capabilities. This role will work closely with our product management teams to define the roadmap for new products, features and enhancements with the goal of making deposit accounts an essential part of the customers’ financial lives. The Director will then work closely with their partner product and platform teams to design and deliver best in class experiences, like leading FDIC 370 product development for banking, data and reporting, and testing our capabilities. The candidate will need to bring a strong perspective, a passion for digital products and trends, a research and data driven approach and be able to make key decisions

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with deposits product management and American Express National Bank (AENB) strategy team to define a strategic roadmap

  • Work with key business partners to understand business needs and convert them to functional product requirements

  • Lead a product team to manage roadmap through design, solutioning and technical delivery, partnering closely with various platform and front-end engineering & product teams

  • Responsible for the product roadmap for multiple business banking domains, sequencing the work as efficiently as possible to achieve product goals

  • Contribute to the definition of KPIs for products, guiding where and how to invest resources and prioritize new features

  • Create and manage a robust testing program for American Express Banking

  • Interpret customer needs, marketplace developments, competitive dynamics, and business goals to build break-through product recommendations

  • Lead and develop a diverse, hard-working team of Product Managers, and analysts to reach their goals and career aspirations

  • Partner with business development leaders to define partnership approach where applicable

  • Occasional travel

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong technical acumen; ability to solution around complex roadblocks

  • Ability to partner across a large organization to get things done

  • Enthusiasm and passion for technology and its application to build great products

  • Curiosity to know how things work and ability to use that knowledge to make connections and find opportunities for innovation

  • Ability to assess risk and guide decision making effectively; comfort with operating without all the information

  • Awareness of consumer and business behaviors and digital trends in financial services, ideally deposit related

  • Authentic people leader with demonstrated ability to develop and engage colleagues and create an effective, inclusive and open culture

  • Adaptability and stamina to pursue innovation at a large company

  • Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills

  • Acts with high integrity; able to handle sensitive issues and maintain complete confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading high functioning teams

  • Previous digital product management experience

Qualifications

Salary Range: $144,250.00 to $256,250.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefits
