The WTE Quality team is looking for a motivated and detail oriented, Software Development Testing Engineer with excellent critical thinking, problem isolation, interpersonal and leadership skills. The Quality Engineering team is responsible for the functional validation of the iOS Frameworks supporting all current Apple Pay features and use cases involving NFC and other wireless protocols. The engineer will work with development and quality engineers within multiple organizations, working to qualify the complex features planned for future iOS and WatchOS.

Description

As a member of this team, you will join a diverse group responsible for qualifying NFC Use Cases (Apple Pay, Digital Car Key, NFC Reader Mode, etc.) on Apple’s innovative devices. In this role, you will assume a multi-functional role that involves qualifying new and exciting features related to Apple Pay and the Secure Element. The team is tasked with developing robust automation frameworks and tools to support the automated tests they implement to assist in the qualification of the upcoming features. This role will require a balance between designing test plans, implementing tools, automating tests, and leading engineers through testing and implementation initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience required

  • 5+ years of experience working as a Software Engineer (Development or Testing)

  • Strong object-oriented programming and design skills in Python

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in automated framework development and test execution

  • Ability to think analytically and creatively to solve problems

  • Strong and effective prioritization skills, enabling excellent multitasking

  • Proficiency with Swift, Objective-C, C++, and/or Java

  • Experience with AI/ML systems and prompt engineering, including ability to design, implement, and evaluate effective prompts for LLMs

  • Familiarity with Splunk or other monitoring/reporting tools

  • Experience using git/version control and the development integration lifecycle with CI/CD systems

  • Experience in wireless technologies (NFC, Bluetooth etc)

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
