Our Platform Architecture group is responsible for connecting our hardware and software into one unified system, and we design technologies to work seamlessly in unison. Description

Apple's Platform Architecture Engineering team is currently looking for an Electrical Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and qualification of various prototyping platforms.

Responsibilities

  • You will work closely with cross-functional design teams to develop new technology prototypes.

  • You will build computer systems from architectural concepts to PCB layout.

  • Your duties will include schematic capture, guiding PCB design, proof-of-concept/prototyping bring-up and debugging, hardware bug tracking, test plan creation, test plan execution, functional verification, signal characterization, and manufacturing support.

  • You will develop and deliver presentations to executives.

  • You will build concise documentation for the projects you deliver.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BSEE or BSCE degree

  • Familiarity with computer system architecture and PCB layout

  • Understanding of the system development process (such as concept creation, schematics and board development, board and system bring up and debugging, etc.)

  • Experience with microcontrollers, microprocessors, or ARM based systems

  • Experience with lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and/or multimeters

Preferred Qualifications

  • MSEE or MSCE degree

  • 20+ years of industry experience, ideally 10+ years in developing consumer electronics products

  • Track record of leading projects from concept to prototype

  • Experience with sensors and analog components

  • Hands-on lab experience: soldering small surface mount components, rework, building prototypes, etc.

  • Experience with Cadence Concept and Allegro

  • Understanding of mechanical engineering concepts

  • Understanding of low-level software, such as drivers and real-time operating systems

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $212,000 and $386,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
