How will you make an impact in this role?

As a senior product manager in the team, you will work with colleagues in the U.S and U.K in shaping how we leverage AI and data to drive a more personalized and engaging user experience. Your focus will be on ensuring that the recommendation engine meets our business goals and provides an optimal customer experience across multiple products, while working closely with cross-functional teams to monitor performance, refine models, and drive data-driven enhancements.

This is a highly collaborative and cross-functional role, working in close partnership with key partners in Engineering, Decision Science, Ventures, as well as Labs Business Development & Product Enablement teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Advanced understanding of artificial intelligence and machine learning concepts, with hands-on experience in applying these technologies to product development.

  • Demonstrated track record of successfully implementing personalization strategies in digital products or services, utilizing AI-driven algorithms to enhance user experience and engagement.

  • Strong analytical skills, capable of interpreting data insights to inform product decisions and optimize algorithms for personalized recommendations.

  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, data science, and business teams to translate business objectives into technical requirements for AI-powered features.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working as a senior product manager (or equivalent) with team leadership responsibilities in a forward-thinking, fast paced team environment

  • Experience in product development using Agile principles in partnership with engineering teams

  • Experience in using traditional AI/ML models to drive a new product/solution in the product development lifecycle

  • Proven ability to track and successfully complete complex programs/projects on time, while keeping all stakeholder groups informed and satisfied

  • Passionate and highly experienced about emerging technology and AI – able to succinctly describe the latest trends and provide thought leadership on their relevance to American Express

  • Experience with data and analytics to drive decision making and product improvement

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, including concise verbal and written executive-level communications

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative environment with heavy emphasis on partnership

  • Demonstrate leadership and organizational skills

  • Basic statistics skills acquired through academic study (i.e. math, computer science, engineering, economics, physics) or comparable work experience.

Qualifications

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits
