About Global Real Estate & Workplace Experience (GREWE)

Global Real Estate and Workplace Experience (GREWE) is a global team at American Express (Amex) responsible for the full lifecycle of planning, execution, and operations of Amex real estate. GREWE supports over 75,000 Amex colleagues and contractors in over eight million square feet of property located in 59 countries. Our real estate portfolio consists of large full-service campuses, office buildings, sales offices, airport lounges and data centers. The global GREWE team is comprised of ~100 Amex full time staff that leverage ~5,000 contractors and is part of the broader Global Servicing Group organization which delivers shared business services to colleagues across the enterprise.

The Director, Workplace Strategy is a key leadership position in the organization, leading a team responsible for setting physical workplace policies for American Express globally. This role will set a workplace strategy such that Amex has a competitive edge to win the talent war.

Business and Colleague Feedback

Creates and leads a process to gain workplace sentiment feedback from across the enterprise. The feedback will shape the workplace innovation pathways and build a better experience for colleagues ever day.

Automating the Office

Uses innovative technology to make everyday tools and systems more intelligent and automated, supporting colleagues to find each other, physical way finding, connections to services, and other Amex amenities (fitness, wellness, conferring, etc.). Setting policies to enable the office temperature, lights, and shades to respond to changing weather automatically to allow the business to run more smoothly.

Build an Integrated Colleague Experience Approach

Leverage feedback from CSAT & Leesman to identify focus areas and reduce key friction points in a colleague's day. This role will consider experience from end-user perspective, identify key areas of integration and experience differentiation over the moments that matter to colleagues, and develop AXP colleague personas and identify potential trigger point opportunities to evolve workplace

Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities

  • Cultivate relationships with Business Units (BUs) to understand requirements to support tailored workplace strategy development.

  • Develop a structured, scalable feedback model (e.g., Leesman) to solicit input from colleagues at all levels - deploy feedback tool at 4 target sites

  • Integrate feedback approach with CEG and AET partners

  • Leverage feedback from CSAT & Leesman to identify focus areas

  • Identify key friction points in a colleague's day, consider experience from end-user perspective

  • Identify key areas of integration and experience differentiation over the moments that matter to colleagues

  • Develop AXP colleague personas and identify potential trigger point opportunities to evolve workplace strategy

  • Pilot ideas in global locations

  • Partner with Tech and Digital Workplace to build a roadmap to digitize our physical workplace

  • Address digital gaps/opportunities in a colleague's daily path

  • Deliver projects across the colleague journeys (Meet, Dining, etc.)

Other Duties

  • Position will serve on the Amex GREWE Americas LT

  • Serves as the key partner to WHQ stakeholders

  • May serve on external boards of directors in industry groups: Corenet, IAMC, etc.

  • Rotating member of other councils as appropriate

Required Qualifications

  • University/Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent

  • 10 years’ work experience

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum of 10 years of hospitality Operations or CRE or facilities experience (or equivalent) is required

  • Minimum of 5 years managing large programs and strategy

  • Deep knowledge of operations management, real estate, hospitality, FM, and/or delivering capital projects in a footprint environment

Qualifications

Salary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefits
