Description

At American Express, our culture is built on a 175-year history of innovation, shared values and Leadership Behaviors, and an unwavering commitment to back our customers, communities, and colleagues. As part of Team Amex, you'll experience this powerful backing with comprehensive support for your holistic well-being and many opportunities to learn new skills, develop as a leader, and grow your career.

Here, your voice and ideas matter, your work makes an impact, and together, you will help us define the future of American Express.

What You’ll Do:

As Senior Product Manager in the Colleague Product Management team, you will be fully engaged in the CEG transformation as we continue to learn and grow into a strong product-based organization. Your products could include Oracle Career and Performance, Learning and Recruiting systems – all the capabilities that are crucial elements in driving Career Growth @ Amex. You will work within a cross functional product team to ensure your products are built and enhanced with an exceptional colleague experience at the forefront; you’ll be using colleague insights to inform your strategic roadmaps and key success metrics to measure your team’s progress. You will define and prioritize product features, articulate, and deliver requirements, lead customer testing, take new capabilities to market, and evolve the product backlog. And in conjunction with your product team, you will shepherd your products through their entire product lifecycle using product management best practices.

Who You Are:

You are an assiduous team player, adept at taking accountability while leading through influence and persuasion within a self-directed team. You know great teams are built on partnership, negotiation, and mutual respect. Your track record shows that teams thrive when you are a member. You have a passion for learning and are relentlessly curious – about our colleagues, your products, and insights gained from other companies solving similar problems. You love providing easy to use solutions to everyday problems and believe that removing friction from our colleagues’ experiences is how you win. You prefer to make decisions based on data and are not afraid to adjust course when new information becomes available. You use iteration to shorten the distance to learning. You advocate using applicable agile tools and methods. You believe your success is measured by your customer’s success, so seek and implement measurement elements accordingly.

  • Oracle HCM experience is required

  • Preferred experience in product management, product ownership, or similar role

  • Preferred, but not required experience in Recruitment and/or Learning

  • Enthusiasm for exceptional products and services, able to empathize with colleagues, and skilled at articulation of product functionality

  • Experience working with software developers, engineers, and architects, with a strong ability to translate product requirements succinctly and ensure technology deliverables are built with high quality

  • Curiosity and hunger to know how things work and ability to use that knowledge to make connections and find opportunities with an entrepreneurial mindset and bias toward action

  • Determination to get to the best outcome for our colleagues

  • Detail oriented, able to identify key questions, make product decisions and assess how pieces of the puzzle interact and affect the overall project

  • Recognize issues quickly and determine how to get a resolution through creative and effective problem solving

  • Excellent communication skills across distributed and global teams with ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners to drive collaboration and alignment

  • Highly organized, taking individual initiative and accountability

  • Preferred, but not required, Bachelor’s Degree
