Summary
Are you passionate about working on complex software features? Are you interested in driving the high-quality standards in Apple’s products? The Core Platform organization within Core OS is seeking a talented and dedicated engineer to join the Quality Engineering team. As a key member of the team, you’ll focus on ensuring the software quality of multiple projects that underpin the core technologies essential for delivering new Apple Silicon. Collaborating closely with development teams, your responsibilities will impact all phases of software delivery for Apple’s products, from early design to product launch and beyond.
Description
You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring that the code produced by Core Platform meets our high quality standards by working with dev teams to create test plans and by running automated/manual tests that ensure the code is functional, stable, and bug-free. When faults are discovered, you’ll root cause the issue by thoroughly analyzing the code, debugging devices under test, and collaborating with partner teams to resolve the issues promptly. Additionally, you’ll enable solutions that enhance our test coverage to uncover elusive bugs. Together we can ensure our customers have the best experience with our amazing hardware.
Minimum Qualifications
Strong organizational skills that allow you to distill complex problem to their base components and keep test plans organized in a fast paced environment.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical findings to diverse audiences.
Strong analytical and problem solving abilities with attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Familiar with Python programming with experience modifying or creating test automation scripts and frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous exposure to hardware bring-up and testing on early prototype devices.
Ability to work effectively in a team and cross-functional environment, collaborating with hardware engineers, software developers, and program managers.
Proficient in source code tracking software such as git to manage and integrate changes to large code bases.
