American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) is the leading payment card issuer for corporations and small businesses with products and services to help them run and grow their business. Within GCS, the GCS and Enterprise Solutions team leads product development on a robust portfolio of products and capabilities for our small business and corporate customers. The team also leads product design and research across GCS as well as business development initiatives to support our banking scale.
We are seeking a dynamic individual to join the Product Enablement team, supporting Digitial Product Development across the GCSES team. To support the product development process, we have created a product enablement function that leads key governance workstreams associated with launches of new products, features and partner integrations (such as approvals and New Product Governance execution). The Sr. Manager will have an opportunity to about multiple GCS products, leading efforts to collaborate with internal and external partners to collect and action on their feedback and requirements, with the goal of driving launch approvals and establishing a risk-based control framework. Ultimately, this Sr. Manager will work closely with product management, product development, and the various risk partner groups (e.g. compliance, legal, privacy) to drive agility and timely launches.
Strong leadership and a broad spectrum of skills are required, including product development expertise, architectural experience, defining clarity from ambiguity, design thinking, building and leveraging relationships, and influencing partners to drive results.
Responsibilities:
Lead product enablement for new and existing digital products
Manage approval workstreams required for launching new digital products and features
Lead efforts to onboard 3rd party partners and represent them to approval committees
Act as the face of a project and the product team to key partners
Anticipate potential risks and issues, and proactively partner with risk partners to identify appropriate solutions or workarounds
Lead discussions with Product, Business Development, Operational Excellence, Risk, Marketing and Servicing teams to guide a project through appropriate UX, comms and flows reviews
Oversee workstream statuses using established PMO tools and processes to ensure timely completion of activities, identify blockers and provide iterative updates to leadership about project and workstream statuses
Build and manage relationships with partners, keeping them informed of current and upcoming project
Develop expertise and understanding of partners' needs and ways of thinking to proactively influence product development efforts
Contribute to product ideation through collection and implementation of partner, customer and internal stakeholder feedback
Contribute to continual process and tool improvements to increase agility and speed to market
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree required, MBA a plus
Strong project management and organizational skills
Effective communication and influencing skills with the ability to work with partners across different functions and with colleagues at all levels
Experience in managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
A self-starter with an ability to operate in dynamic and often ambiguous environments
Curiosity and hunger to know how things work and ability to use that knowledge to make connections and find opportunities for improvement
Experience and passion for digital products; understanding of consumer banking trends a plus
Qualifications
Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits
