The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in facilitating art production workflows, ensuring a harmonious balance between performance optimizations and quality, including proficiency in custom engines. The candidate has ideally managed the responsibility and excelled in delivering exceptional character designs. The candidate will collaborate effectively across disciplines, working closely with concept designers, technical artists, and animators, and has extensive experience in this role at the highest level of real-time production. Our processes incorporate a significant research and development component. Description

Creates 3D characters that meet the project’s requirements, including deformation-specific topology, optimizations, and look development.

Design characters by combine technical expertise, artistic ability, and a deep understanding of anatomy and character motion.

Take ideas from concept to final delivery by collaborating effectively cross-functionally to realize character goals.

Understand and perform hair/fur grooming techniques and create wardrobe and accessories that complement the character design.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years experience working in professional production

• Extensive experience building characters, creatures, animals across a wide range of styles

• Deep understanding of runtime performance and how to scale content for different platforms.

• Strong understanding character optimization for motion and real-time performance as well as look development across a wide range of styles.

• BS degree or equivalent required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Having worked through an entire AAA production cycle.

• Thorough knowledge of pipelines and processes used in real-time art development.

• Strong understanding of real time rendering.

• Able to communicate precisely and collaborate well cross-functionally.

• Self-starter and driver, excellent communicator and team-player.

• Ability to anticipate, prioritize, and organize work to lead direction and meet objectives.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $163,300 and $290,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
