American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) is dedicated to the success of businesses big and small with the vision to be essential to our customers’ businesses every day. Within GCS, the Corporate Card products team designs and operates the corporate-liability Card products that are offered to medium, large and global businesses.

The Corporate Account Setup and Spend Enablement team owns product management of account setup, working in partnership with teams in Risk, Digital Experience, Onboarding Capabilities, and beyond. Specifically, Spend Enablement-focused members of the team oversee the customer-facing experience through which clients are approved, assigned credit lines, and manage their spend capacity as they grow and their needs change.

The Senior Manager, New Corporate Card Client Spend Enablement will:

  • Product manage the journey through which new clients are approved for a corporate-liability Card program and assigned an initial limit

  • Work closely with partners in Risk to determine the inputs for approval and underwriting, and how these can be collected in the most seamless and customer-friendly way

  • Write business requirements to update key journeys in approval and line assignment, focusing on how new clients can understand their spend capacity and billing cycle, and edit these as they come onboard.

  • Contribute to the strategy and execution of alternate pathways for customers to obtain credit lines, including document verification, secure bank connections, and innovative alternatives to traditional underwriting.

  • Be an expert in alternative solutioning, in both internal and external products that can enhance the onboarding journey.

  • Work in close partnership with other leaders in Card Product, as well as leadership in Field, Servicing, Client Management, Business Enablement: Onboarding Capabilities, and UX Design

  • Analyze application and underwriting completion rates, customer pain points, and other metrics of journey health to suggest go-forward strategy

  • Use visual communications including user demos to contextualize and syndicate journey improvements, and present the strategic/business rationale for these investments; rank and submit for investment new technical features to be built

  • Serve as a Product point person for questions on approval and limit assignment experience and issue resolution

Qualifications:

  • Customer-first mentality with previous experience in B2B Cards, or equivalent experience in Financial Services software product management; understanding and confidence with user interface design a plus

  • Ability to think across platforms and channels to design the collection of client information necessary to approve a corporate-liability program and underwrite the client’s initial limit

  • Analytical curiosity and drive; resourcefulness in discovering new information to inform upkeep and improvements to the approval and limit assignment journey

  • Fluency in the language of credit risk and underwriting; ability to collaborate with peers within these teams to translate risk and underwriting requirements for incoming clients

  • Flexible, creative problem-solver who puts structure around complex issues

  • Communication excellence, both visual/written and verbal; comfort in front of audiences of various levels of seniority

  • Facility for stakeholder management; ability to communicate vision to build collaboration and partnership

  • Proactive and positive attitude, dedication to building team culture of learning, growth, and development

Qualifications

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits
