Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Design and develop cellular protocol test system and network simulator for 5G & 4G technologies with C/C++, Python and Shell scripts. Design, develop, and maintain cellular protocol device side host test and network simulation environment to test UE cellular protocol stack and verify UE is working properly. Utilize relevant cellular protocols and UE and/or NW protocols development for various 3GPP technologies to build the cellular protocol test system and network simulator. Conduct cellular protocol stack host test and simulation environment development to test the UE 5G & 4G protocol stack with host test system (Mac OS, Linux). Debug continuous integration failures and triage failure logs to the right component teams to find the root cause of the failures based on log analysis with 3GPP technologies & system knowledge. Maintain and evolve software systems and configurations and extend framework projects with C/C++ and Python on Mac OS, Linux and embedded OS. Develop and maintain automation and tools with C/C++, Python, and shell scripts for cellular protocol test system and network simulator to enable CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery). Follow best-of-practice SDLC process for software development, debugging, unit-test and integration to deliver the system with good quality and meet the schedule. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 - $214,500/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.

  • Education and/or experience in each of the following skills:

  • Using C and C++ languages to implement a wireless network simulator for cellular protocol testing.

  • Building automation test framework using Python scripting.

  • Executing the test script, monitoring the system, and cleaning up the resources using Shell Script.

  • Using Embedded System Knowledge for system design, including knowledge in debugging the system issues of wireless network simulator

  • Using Linux knowledge to implement the components of a network simulator in a Linux environment.

  • Using Operating system, memory management knowledge for system design, and implementation of the wireless network simulator

  • Using Web development knowledge for CI/CD (continuous integration/continuous delivery)
