DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Test Engineer-Specialist to join our Seymour Engine Plant and Engine Test Team in Seymour, IN .

This role entails designing and implementing test processes, evaluating, recommending, and implementing automated test tools and strategies for components or products in a manufacturing environment. It requires hands-on experience with new and seasoned machinery, engine control systems, cell control systems, and associated equipment. Additionally, the role includes supervisory responsibilities for 1-3 hourly Advance Manufacturing Associates (AMA) who support the same area and initiatives.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Supports/leads projects within the larger test area as needed.

  • Leading process review, modification, approval, and implementation.

  • Providing functional project support/lead for ER, PQP, RFT, BIS, and HSE issue resolution.

  • Troubleshooting machine issues, including PLC and engine control systems.

  • Coordinating and implementing new processes and equipment.

  • Leading new option change implementation for assigned equipment/area.

  • Working closely with skilled trades during repair and troubleshooting activities.

  • Collaborating with suppliers to source, design, and implement new equipment/machinery.

  • Supporting production assembly operations.

  • Participating in design reviews, troubleshooting events, and cross-functional teams to support plant initiatives, improvements, and goals.

  • Project Management: Balances scope, schedule, and resources for projects, ensuring results are fully realized.

  • Values Differences: Recognizes the value of diverse perspectives and cultures.

  • Controls Networking : Implements technologies to transfer information within production processes or databases.

  • Equipment/Capital Procurement: Select manufacturing equipment that meets specifications and project needs.

  • Process Documentation: Produces standardized manufacturing procedures to ensure continuity and compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience

  • College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required.

  • 5-8 years of relevant experience required.

  • Experience with Comptek or other engine control systems is required.
