American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) is the Global leader in the Commercial Payments Solutions space and subsequently continues to be an exciting and fast-growing segment. To maintain success, accelerating sales and driving profitable charge volume growth are critical for the organization. The Sales Enablement, Pricing and Transformation (SPT) team within the Commercial Business Enablement organization is instrumental in ensuring achievement of these objectives. Our team’s vision is focused on being essential architects of growth, profitability, and operating efficiency for GCS. SPT’s mission is to power GCS growth through the provision of informed pricing, sales enablement support and process transformation.
The Transformation and Automation (TAG) team within the SPT organization, is a transformation engine serving GCS using expertise in Automation, Process Engineering, Data Analytics & Advanced Project Management to deliver critical business solutions that drive direct financial impact, enhanced productivity, and increased safeguards for the business.
How will you make an impact in this role?
The Senior Manager, Strategic Projects is a role that will drive GCS business-critical projects for the TAG organization. The role is highly visible with great exposure to cross functional business teams and success is based on driving delivery of expected outcomes. The role will report to the Director-Strategic Projects, TAG based in New York and will lead highly impactful business critical initiatives that drive direct P&L benefit.
Core Responsibilities:
Lead Strategic Projects for the Global Commercial Services organization on behalf of TAG; serve as the primary point of contact for the customer for the duration of the project
Leverage end-to-end business knowledge to develop detailed problem statement and conduct Root Cause Analysis for Strategic work
Collaborate with Service Delivery team and business partners to develop a Project Charter and gain sign-off from all partners & senior sponsors on project parameters, timing & benefits
Partner with multiple teams across the American Express including, Product, Sales & AD, Marketing, Technologies, Operations Excellence, Finance, Operations to drive the execution of the strategic projects
Develop project plan, manage deadlines and budgets, while identifying project risks, issues, and dependencies
Project manage the design, development, and delivery of Strategic solutions?
Deliver updates and recommendations to Steering Committee/ Senior Leadership
Minimum Qualifications:
Proven leadership and relationship skills, including the ability to influence positive outcomes and develop strong partnership/relationship with key business units across all levels of the organization
5-7 years of combined experience in Consulting, and/ or Program Management/ Strategy
Strong financial expertise, practical experience/familiarity with P&L required
Excellent written, oral and presentation skills, with ability to interact with partners across all management levels
Strong project/process management and prioritization skills
Excellent problem-solving skills
Consistent track record in analyzing data and information to proficiently produce relevant conclusions and recommendations
Proficient knowledge of MS Office; understanding of program/project management software (MS Project etc.) is a strong advantage
Bachelor's Degree required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Program Management, Six Sigma and/or other related certifications to demonstrate control approach is a plus

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits
