Job Description
The Business HR Manager is a strategic and trusted partner to the business, helping to shape our culture, support our business strategies and deliver the talent necessary to make a remarkable impact on AbbVie and patients around the world. This role is responsible for leveraging best-in-class HR practices to continually create, deliver, and support programs that establish AbbVie as an employer of choice while empowering all employees at all levels of the organization. This role will serve as a strategic HR partner to multiple VPs in AbbVie’s Quality & EHS organization within the Operations function, to develop and implement people strategies and tactics that support the business plans and the achievement of both short-term and long-term strategic objectives.
The Operations Quality & EHS organization is made up of 3,500 employees around the world and is responsible for instilling a shared quality culture that protects our patients by ensuring products are safe, effective, and available. Our vision is to be recognized for patient centricity and a strong quality culture, powered by talented people who inclusively collaborate and innovate. Our Quality and EHS employees are located in our manufacturing sites, as well as in our global quality teams that support and enable our manufacturing sites.
Join a team of four HR leaders, each of which supports multiple vice presidents and their global organizations driving leadership development, talent management, org design and other critical HR process to deliver success. This position will follow our hybrid model of 3 days a week on-site from our headquarters in North Chicago.
Main areas of responsibilities:
Serve as the primary strategic partner to business leaders and their global organization. Assist in developing and implementing HR strategies to meet organizational and business needs.
Coach, consult and influence senior business leaders regarding leadership development, culture, succession planning, and talent management.
Develop and implement strategies to attract, develop, and retain talent that meets current and future business needs. This includes identifying and cultivating new capabilities required for future success. Lead talent development and succession planning efforts.
Responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of all HR programs and services. Responsible for successful delivery of day-to-day and long-term HR initiatives and results in the business, including client satisfaction, HR effectiveness and associated financial results.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key HR partners globally, including our HR partners that work in our manufacturing sites (manage the day-to-day HR at the sites) and from all HR Centers of Excellence to ensure elements of HR are successfully coordinated to meet business needs; including relationship management, leadership, HR roles & responsibilities, and service delivery commitments.
Provides consultation on organizational design and effectiveness / structure issues to ensure optimal performance.
Drive people manager development to create clarity and consistency of expectations, accountability, and enriched manager/employee experiences. Partner with people leaders to shape a culture of high employee engagement, high performance, diversity and inclusion.
Facilitate, implement, and model change. Develop and deliver effective communication strategies that align with organizational priorities and support business objectives.
Champion AbbVie Ways We Work with Business leaders by modeling, educating and coaching on these behaviors.
Prioritize critical projects based on business needs and available resources.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial and Labor Relations or a related field required.
6+ years of relevant HR experience.
Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting the business; strong business acumen.
Experience utilizing competency models and assessment tools such as 360 assessment tool and other talent tools to conduct manager talent assessment and deliver reports to detail potential motivators and areas of improvement to support talent development.
Experience in data analysis and survey results analysis to help generate insights and action to improve talent, culture and engagement.
Project management or business experience

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.?

Salary: $106,500 - $202,500
