How will you make an impact in this role?
American Express is seeking a Manager, Program Management to drive strategic alignment between Digital Workplace and Global Real Estate & Workplace Experience (GREWE). This role operates at the intersection of workplace technology, building design, construction, and smart building strategy — ensuring our global portfolio enables the Future of Work.
The position partners closely with GREWE, Technology, and design/construction teams to align workplace technology standards, building systems, and digital experience strategy across new developments, renovations, and flagship projects globally.
Key Responsibilities
Lead program governance across Digital Workplace and Global Real Estate for global office builds, renovations, and major capital projects
Partner with GREWE to review architectural and design packages to ensure alignment on workplace technology, smart building systems, and future-ready infrastructure
Provide subject matter input on building design considerations, including workplace technology integration, network readiness, AV, IoT, security systems, and digital collaboration environments
Ensure alignment between Technology, GREWE, Network, Information Security, and HR Technology on workplace and building initiatives
Guide and oversee portfolio insights, synthesizing cross-program data into cohesive narratives that inform executive decision-making and strategic prioritization.
Identify cross-functional risks, funding dependencies, and execution gaps early in the design and construction lifecycle
Drive consistent documentation, governance, and RACI clarity across global programs
Develop executive-ready communications, including steering committee materials, strategy decks, and portfolio reporting
Own program documentation artifacts including charters, roadmaps, design standards, decision logs, and governance frameworks
Support strategy and execution of smart building capabilities, digital workplace standards, and emerging workplace technologies
Utilize Jira Cloud to manage workflows, track dependencies, and provide structured reporting across initiatives
Required Qualifications
6 years of experience in Global Real Estate, workplace technology, building construction, or infrastructure program management
Strong understanding of building design, construction lifecycles, and integration of technology into physical environments
6 years of experience in Program Management
Strong PowerPoint and executive presentation development skills, with the ability to synthesize complex cross-functional initiatives into clear, structured narratives
Knowledge of smart building systems (BMS, IoT, AV, collaboration tech, security, network infrastructure)
Experience aligning Technology and Real Estate organizations within complex global enterprises
Proficiency in Jira Cloud or similar workflow/program management platforms
Strong stakeholder management skills within matrixed environments
Ability to translate Future of Work strategy into real estate and building requirements
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting large-scale developments (e.g., global HQ, tower builds, or major renovations)
Familiarity with workplace experience strategy and innovation ecosystems
Understanding of governance frameworks and enterprise technology compliance
Leadership Profile

Qualifications
Salary Range: $103,750.00 to $174,750.00 annually bonus benefits
