Role Number: 200607188

The people here at Apple don’t just create products — they create the kind of wonder that’s revolutionized entire industries. It’s the diversity of those people and their ideas that inspires the innovation that runs through everything we do, from amazing technology to industry-leading environmental efforts. Join Apple, and help us leave the world better than we found it.

Come be a part of the Apple Sports Group — one of the most exciting and fastest-growing areas at Apple. We are seeking an experienced, thoughtful, and entrepreneurial individual to lead the internal cross-functional teams focused on Apple’s portfolio of sports properties. This individual will also manage our external sports league partnerships. This role requires a highly motivated and adaptive self-starter that can meet hard deadlines. Candidates should possess exceptional stakeholder and partner management skills, the ability to balance competing priorities and deadlines, a strong strategic and analytical mindset, a proven track record of building and sustaining successful digital programs, and a deep understanding of the sports and video streaming landscape.

Description

In this role, you will lead the team that oversees day-to-day operations across Apple for our portfolio of sports properties (including MLS Season Pass, Friday Night Baseball, and the Apple Sports App) as well as the day-to-day relationships with our external sports league partners. You will create and own the tools and documentation underpinning all ongoing activities for these sports initiatives and will be responsible for the development of business requirements, roadmaps, and project schedules. You will communicate updates throughout the organization, including the presentation of key findings and proposals to senior leaders. You will collaborate closely with other members of the Apple Sports Group, as well as with a cross-functional team of stakeholders at Apple - including members of the product, marketing, engineering, legal, analytics, finance, editorial, business development, subscriber growth, and programming teams - to ensure all deadlines and business objectives are met. To be successful in this role, you should: be customer-focused, organized, and team-minded; thrive in ambiguous environments; and love sports.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 years of meaningful industry work experience with a deep understanding of sports and the streaming video landscape.

  • Consistent record of successfully executing complex business and technical projects cross-functionally within a large organizational structure.

  • Strong leadership and project management capabilities with exceptional attention to detail; successful track record delivering results and exceeding expectations on time.

  • Self-starter mentality with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment; comfort managing ambiguity while driving results with minimal guidance.

  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to articulate a strong point of view clearly and succinctly.

  • Strong presentation creation skills; ability to quickly translate complex issues into a coherent narrative that prompts collaboration, alignment, and action.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exceptional relationship-building and interpersonal skills; ability to develop strong partnerships inside and outside of Apple.

  • Comfort working closely with engineering and product teams to solve complicated technical challenges.

  • Ability to integrate product, design, business, marketing, and engineering considerations in support of broader business objectives.

  • Strong commitment to the customer experience, putting the Apple user first in all decisions.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and reach consensus while balancing many projects and priorities.

  • Passion for sports, media, and consumer technology.
