Description
At Apple, we combine product management/development and product marketing responsibilities into a single, cross functional Product Management role that collaborates with design, engineering, finance, legal, marketing communications, public relations, market research, sales and support for maximum impact across the organization.
We are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated worldwide Product Manager to join the iPad team. You will be responsible for driving the creation of complex and high impact products that will shape the future of computing including:
Minimum Qualifications
4+ years experience in product marketing and/or product management roles, including at least one entire product development cycle from concept to launch.
Hands-on experience formulating product messaging and creating outbound marketing for both technical and consumer audiences, and partnering with engineering during early research and development to define product strategy and roadmap, and with marketing and public relations to craft positioning, and define marketing activities.
Recent experience within the last 3 years in one or more of the following product segments: consumer electronics, tablet/phone industry, consumer hardware experience, experience working with application developers to design custom solutions (e.g. productivity, creativity, communication, gaming, or lifestyle apps), or adjacent.
Ability to drive communication with key stakeholders, the media, and public, as demonstrated by exceptional presentation skills: developing keynote addresses in an area of deep subject matter expertise, synthesizing information, applying critical thinking and maintaining composure under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams: with engineering/technical teams including during early research and development to define product strategy and roadmap, and with marketing and public relations to craft positioning, and define marketing activities
A track record in formulating product messaging and creating outbound marketing; Experience synthesizing technologies into product communication for broad audiences including customers, media, analysts, and leading industry specialists
Strong understanding of technology domains and a sense of curiosity to dive several layers deep
Best-in-class oral and written communication skills; ability to become fluent in technical concepts and explain to non-technical partners
Strong ability to lead through influence, debate and storytelling
Press and media experience with success as a product spokesperson on a national or global level
Exceptional interpersonal skills; thrives in highly collaborative projects, effective at building consensus, handles high stakes decisions with ease with the ability to cut through ambiguity
Strong analytical abilities and an uncompromising attention to detail with the ability to operate seamlessly between highly detailed and technical situations and strategic business situations
A self-starter who is dedicated and demonstrates creative and critical thinking abilities
