Job Description
As an experienced Java/Eclipse software developer you understand the value of the Eclipse platform. Topaz, an innovative new development environment making mainframe development ordinary, needs your skills to continue the revolution. As part of the Topaz team you will create an environment that allows application programmers to harness the power of the mainframe in a familiar, easy to use environment. Using agile methodologies and focusing on end user experience you will impact the way business applications are created at Fortune 500 companies around the world.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Competencies
- 3+ years of application development using Java, Eclipse RCP, SWT, JFace
- BS or BA in computer science related field or relevant enterprise level programming experience
- Knowledge of software design and implementation
- Strong usability skills
- Strong OO application development
- Good working knowledge of MVC framework (Struts, Spring or Webflow)
- Exposure to production deployment and production support
- Knowledge of design patterns and best practices, how to choose the correct one for the situation
- Ability to write code that is maintainable, extendible, and has minimal bugs
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Able to acquire and use new skills to support new products
Desired Skills/Competencies
- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies
- Experience in developing back end components (non-GUI)
- Experience with open source software including JAXB, Ant, SVN
