Summary
The Camera & Photos Infrastructure team is seeking a results driven and meticulously organized allocation engineer. We manage all Apple devices that the Camera & Photos organization uses for quality assurance and development of iOS and macOS applications.
This position will provide the opportunity to work with the latest Apple hardware and software. As a Hardware Allocation Engineer, you will oversee the entire device lifecycle from requests to distribution to recall.
Description
This role will be responsible for forecasting resource needs, analyzing capacity constraints, and developing comprehensive plans to optimize our device utilization. Using a blend of analytical rigor, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, the Hardware Allocation Engineer will collaborate closely with project managers, functional leads, and engineering teams to drive efficient and effective hardware delivery.
Minimum Qualifications
College degree or equivalent experience
Experience with asset management systems and inventory tracking
Familiarity with hardware lifecycle management, including procurement, lead times, maintenance, and retirement
Project or program management experience
Prior experience in a lab environment
Ability to lift up 30 lbs without assistance
Preferred Qualifications
Deep understanding of Apple's device ecosystem (iOS, iPadOS, hardware specifications)
Strong communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail
Self-starter with ability to juggle conflicting priorities
Ability to problem-solve and think clearly and quickly to resolve potential issues
Ability and willingness to collaborate with cross-functional teams
Positive attitude, willingness to offer help, and engage with a large extended team both in person and virtually
