Description
APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Work closely with cross-functional engineers to design and validate solutions that guarantee high quality EMC performance of Apple products. Tackle mechanical, electrical, and software challenges affecting EMC performance and delivering innovative solutions. Review mechanical designs of enclosures, connectors, and cables for EMC compliance. Review printed circuit board (PCB) schematics and layouts for emissions and immunity control. Partner with vendors on defining component specifications and validation procedures to meet EMC requirements at the system level. Prepare comprehensive test plans, supervise validation, and compile reports. Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical sources of EMC failures and identify solutions that are agreeable to cross-functional partners. Define validation requirements and train test engineers on data collection at factories and Apple labs. Review and analyze data from multiple designs, present findings to peers, partners and management and recommend design changes. Domestic and International Travel Required 5%. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $186,472 - $272,100/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
3 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:
Utilizing PCB layout and MCAD tools to review and propose EMC/ESD design recommendations and mitigations.
Utilizing MATLAB, python, or scripts for test automation and data analysis.
Utilizing in-depth knowledge of worldwide EMC regulations, standards, and methods to develop test plans and perform validation.
Utilizing electromagnetic modeling and simulation tools including CST, HFSS, ADS, and PowerSI to simulate EMI/ESD coupling paths and solutions.
Performing failure analysis and debug to resolve complex technical issues during hardware development.
Using lab equipment including high speed oscilloscopes, VNAs, SAs, receivers, and DMMs to perform accurate measurements.
Generating component specifications and validation procedures to meet EMC requirements at the system level.
