Description
APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Use network throttles to test adaptability protocol. Test HLS protocol with 3rd Party apps. Perform cellular streaming playback validation. Video Adaptive Streaming Functional Testing, where knowledge of the nuances of the HLS protocol, and technical understanding of the video playback pipeline are used to come up with valid tests and do first level triage of results. Create or modify test apps used in automation. Create or modify scripts used to parse automation output (i.e., logs). Integrate new automation in Apple’s Continuous Integration (CI) infrastructure. Automation Development for Video Streaming, where the programming language, Swift, is used to implement automated tests, and knowledge of Apple’s automation platform is used to integrate the aforementioned automated tests. Use network throttles to test adaptability protocol. Analyze results. Conduct first level triage of issues found. Report results to dev teams. Complete Video Adaptive Streaming Performance Testing, where knowledge of what KPI thresholds to expect is used to examine results (i.e., Startup time, frame drops, variant switches, etc.). 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $149,365 - $213,700/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
Experience and/or education must include:
Experience with working on audio and video multimedia software to test streaming applications, HDR video conversions, and visual quality validation.
Experience in software development for web and mobile apps.
Experience with end-to-end software test automation including building automation frameworks for multimedia applications, cross-platform test suite development, quick development of automation solutions, and seamless integration with CI/CD pipelines.
Creating dashboards and visualization for reporting and presenting.
Creating software tools for video and audio analysis (ie. PSNR, FFT Analysis).
Experience in continuous Integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and version control for integration and regression testing and deployment workflows.
Utilizing Python, C, C++, and JavaScript to develop custom scripts and solutions including automation tools, performance monitoring utilities, and interactive applications.
