From delivering differentiated products to providing world-class customer service, we operate with a strong risk mindset, ensuring we continue to uphold our brand promise of trust, security, and service.

As part of Team Amex, you'll experience this powerful backing with comprehensive support for your holistic well-being and many opportunities to learn new skills, develop as a leader, and grow your career. Here, your voice and ideas matter, your work makes an impact, and together, you will help us define the future of American Express.

The Technology Business Enablement (TBE) team powers American Express Tech Strategy by enabling Predictability, Transparency, and Efficiency through best-in-class Tech Business Management capabilities.

Within the TBE’s Technology Portfolio Management organization, the Director of Transformation & Product Strategy will lead the next phase of our enterprise TBM and portfolio ecosystem evolution. This role owns the product vision and transformation roadmap for our connected portfolio toolset, integrating planning, workforce, financial, and delivery systems into a cohesive ecosystem that enables smarter, insight-driven decision-making.

As our TBM capabilities mature, this leader will ensure our tools, data, standards, and operating model work together seamlessly — positioning the organization to leverage connected data for actionable insights and AI-augmented decision support.

What You’ll Do:

Own TBM Ecosystem Product Strategy

  • Define the product vision and multi-year roadmap for the enterprise TBM and portfolio tooling ecosystem (Apptio Target process & IT Planning, Fieldglass and underlying data)

  • Lead product discovery with stakeholders across the enterprise to prioritize high-impact capabilities

Lead Ecosystem Integration & Transformation

  • Connect demand, supply, workforce, financial, and operational systems into a cohesive portfolio ecosystem

  • Strengthen system integrations and data consistency across planning, forecasting, reporting, and governance processes

Modernize Costing, Forecasting & Workforce Connectivity

  • Propose and implement modern forecasting and costing methodologies to improve transparency and Total Cost of Ownership insights.

  • Integrate Operations into plan, forecast, and actuals to enable end-to-end visibility

  • Enable scenario planning and Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) use cases across the ecosystem

Enable Insight-Driven & AI-Augmented Planning

  • Partner with Data & AI teams to ensure portfolio data is structured to support advanced insights and GenAI use cases

  • Identify and prioritize opportunities where AI-augmented capabilities can enhance forecasting, prioritization, productivity measurement, and governance

  • Partner across the portfolio to embed actionable insights into executive forums to improve investment decisions and strategic alignment

Advance Enterprise Standards & Governance

  • Evolve and maintain the Enterprise Standards Playbook (Planning, Supply/Demand, TCO, Agile, and governance)

  • Establish consistent data definitions to drive enterprise transparency and comparability

Lead & Develop the Team

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of product strategists and transformation leads

  • Foster a culture focused on connectivity, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Who You Are

  • Enterprise transformation leader with experience modernizing portfolio, planning, or financial management ecosystems

  • Strategic product leader who treats enterprise platforms as connected products, not just tools

  • Systems thinker who can connect demand, workforce, cost, delivery, and value into a cohesive model

  • Financially credible with expertise in forecasting, costing methodologies, TCO, and scenario planning

  • AI-fluent business leader able to shape AI use cases in partnership with data teams

  • Influential communicator with executive presence and proven change leadership

Qualifications

  • 10 years in strategy, product management, enterprise transformation, financial systems, or related disciplines.

  • 5 years leading cross-functional teams.

  • Experience implementing or managing enterprise planning/workflow platforms

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and operationalize AI-augmented business use cases in partnership with data or technology teams
