Job Description
Role Number: 200652699-0836
Summary
The Analog Mixed-Signal (AMS) team is seeking a self-motivated Lead Micro Architect to drive the definition of next-generation IPs. These AMS IPs will be integrated into Apple silicon, delivering breakthrough power efficiency and performance across iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch.
Description
In this role, you will define the micro architecture of AMS IPs and ensure designs meet rigorous performance requirements. This includes reviewing analog and digital circuits, and collaborating with silicon evaluation and design verification teams to establish expected system behavior. You will lead debug efforts during system bring-up and factory testing, and partner with signal integrity engineers to define system-level requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
The ideal candidate brings hands-on expertise in architecture, design, and production across high-precision and ultra-low-power analog and mixed-signal circuits, data converter architectures, and digitally-assisted analog techniques.
Proficiency in Matlab, Python, Simulink, and VerilogA modeling
Strong grasp of AMS IP architectures and design tradeoffs
Ability to architect solutions meeting challenging noise, linearity, power, and area requirements
Familiarity with AMS design flows and chip assembly techniques
Understanding of adaptation, optimization, and calibration algorithms
Proven experience working cross-functionally with design, layout, and production test engineers
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience in system-level design and performance trade-off analysis
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of DSP concepts and applications
Familiarity with machine learning concepts as applied to AMS systems
Experience in firmware or embedded software development as applied to AMS systems
BS and a minimum of 20 years relevant industry experience
