The U.S. Consumer and Digital Technology (USCDT) team brings together foundational strategic technology capabilities in digital experience engineering (Mobile and Web), AI/ML, marketing technology, enterprise communications, travel and lifestyle, and automation, grounded in our data technology model that prioritizes data governance. It employs a ground-breaking focus with development responsibilities for customer-facing capabilities that deepen and expand digital engagement, as well as core technical capabilities that cut across business lines and customer segments.
Global Advertising and Brand Management Tech team supports the digital products bringing membership entertainment and experiences to life, by providing a platform for activating events, checking in cardmembers and guests, enabling events offers and benefits redemptions and continuous engagement through our AmEx experiences hub and apps.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform technical aspects of software development for assigned applications including design, developing prototypes, and coding assignments
Function as a leader on an agile team by contributing to software builds through consistent development practices (tools, common components, and documentation)
Lead code reviews and automated testing
Debug software components and identify code defects for remediation
Leads the deployment, support, and monitoring of software across test, integration, and production environments.
Takes accountability for the success of the team achieving their goals
Drives the team’s strategy and prioritizes initiatives
Influence team members by challenging status quo, demonstrating risk taking, and implementing innovative ideas
Be a productivity multiplier for your team by analyzing your workflow and contributing to enable the team to be more effective, productive, and demonstrating faster and stronger results.
Mentor and guide team members to success within the team.
Demonstrate software development skills in a professional environment and/or comparable experience such as:
Agile development, application design, software development, and testing
Expertise with HTML, CSS, AJAX, JavaScript Frameworks React and NodeJS
Thorough understanding of JSON, web services technologies, and data structure fundamentals, with experience in designing highly scalable solutions.
Experience with Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, SQL, DB2 UDB
Hands-on expertise with application design, software development and automated testing
Strong expertise in API Development and architectural / security standards.
Experience with continuous integration/deployment (GithubActions, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, XLR).
Experience with Java applications design and development in an Enterprise setting using Java, J2EE, Vertx, Spring Boot, Relation DBMS
Expertise in objected oriented analysis & domain driven development and design across a variety of platforms
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, computer science engineering, or related experience required or advanced degree preferred
3 years of active engineering
2 years of technical leadership experience in a complex technical environment and/or comparable experience
Successful design, creation and deployment of one or more enterprise-grade technology assets, including integration of cross-platform solutions in an Agile product environment
Experience with agile software development methodologies and practices such as Scrum/Kanban, iterations, user stories
Ability to set priorities and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Hands on experience with automation testing and documentation (i.e. automated, functional, and performance)
Ability to learn and adapt in a rapidly changing environment.
Adaptable to changes in product requirements, organizational structures and business conditions
Engaged with the open source community, demonstrated public speaking, etc. Ability to effectively communicate to internal and external business partners on architecture and solution design
Preferred - Knowledge/Skills:
Collaborates with leadership across multiple teams to define solution requirements and technical implementation Engineering & Architecture
Demonstrate technical expertise to help team members overcome technical problems
Solves technical problems outside of day-to-day responsibilities
Contributes to the success of many teams achieving their goals
Qualifications
Salary Range: $85,000.00 to $150,000.00 annually bonus benefits
