Description

MCR Safety, a Bunzl company, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented intern with proficient to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Outlook to join our Global Trade Compliance team. This internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in international trade compliance through extensive data analysis and interdepartmental collaboration.

The selected candidate will work on a high-impact project analyzing data for over 12,000 product descriptions across multiple operating companies to verify the accuracy of country-of-origin determination, harmonized tariff classification codes, and applicable duty/tariff percentages. The intern will also provide support for gathering material composition data from internal departments to support product classification efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze large datasets to ensure accuracy in product origin, tariff classification, and associated duties.

  • Perform data integrity checks and reconcile inconsistencies across various systems and sources.

  • Gather and validate material composition data from Product Development, Global Sourcing, and Supply Chain teams.

  • Collaborate with internal departments to clarify or complete product information necessary for compliance reporting.

  • Assist in identifying and correcting errors that could pose risks of non-compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations.

  • Support the Trade Compliance team in developing documentation and reporting for internal and external audits.

  • Communicate effectively using Microsoft Outlook to coordinate with stakeholders and maintain records.

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, Data Analytics, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Proficient to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, conditional formatting, data validation).

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook for communication and scheduling.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work with complex datasets.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently across multiple tasks.

  • Interest in global trade, compliance, or logistics is a plus.

  • Must be able to fulfill an 8-week commitment, working Mon-Fri 8am-5pm onsite in Collierville, TN .
