This role will play a critical leadership position within the Finance organization.
The Finance organization drives performance while upholding the Company’s commitment to regulatory compliance and financial integrity through strategic collaboration with internal business partners and external constituents including the investment community and supervisors. By leveraging its unique view that spans across the Blue Box, Finance supports innovation and transformation by helping identify and prioritize the best and most impactful growth opportunities for the Company.
As the Vice President, Compliance, this position will provide strategic compliance oversight to the Finance organization while providing advisory support to ensure that Finance manages and mitigates the regulatory risk in all jurisdictions in which it operates.
The role leads a diverse team of 1LOD Compliance professionals who oversee various aspects of the Finance organization and requires strong collaboration with other stakeholder groups including the 2LOD Market Compliance Officers and the General Counsel’s Organization.
This role is a highly visible and strategic position that maintains regular interactions with senior leaders and external regulatory examiners as appropriate.
The Key responsibilities are as follows:
Driving implementation of policy and regulatory requirements applicable to Finance
Providing Finance specific compliance expertise, particularly in relation to identifying where compliance and regulatory risk is present in Finance process and controls.
Oversight for executing impact assessments for regulatory changes impacting Finance and coordinating and implementing changes for the organization as required
Responsible for compliance metrics tracking and reporting for Finance. The role will also own, draft and update Finance compliance procedures and communications for compliance related BU issues.
The role will coordinate and provide consultation to stakeholders through the New Product Approval (NPA) process.
Assisting with control design activities led by Control Management, advising on compliance risk mitigation elements.
Advising leaders on areas of emerging risk and approaches to improve necessary controls and practices as appropriate.
Partnering with key compliance and business partners across the Enterprise such as the General Counsel's Organization, Audit, and 2LOD Global Compliance and Ethics groups.
Required Qualifications
Deep regulatory knowledge of the financial regulations applicable to Finance organizations (e.g., Regulation YY, Bank Holding Company Regulatory Reporting requirements, Basel, Privacy requirements, etc.)
Prior credit card industry, compliance, legal or risk experience is a plus.
Strong relationship and leadership skills with proven ability to communicate and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
Ability to exercise good judgment in the development and pursuit of compliant solutions.
Prior experience of leading and developing high performing teams is a plus.
Excellent written, verbal, research, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
Strong project management skills, ability to lead multiple projects and support multiple priorities simultaneously.
Demonstrated ability to make decisions independently, work well under pressure, meet deadlines and adapt easily to frequent change.
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
Candidates must be willing to work hybrid out of the nearest AMEX location located in New York, North Carolina, Utah, or Arizona.

Salary Range: $200,000.00 to $275,000.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefits
