Job Description
Role Number: 200652186-0836
Summary
Join the team building the future of virtual assistants in the home. As an engineer on our Siri Home Devices team, you'll create experiences that millions use daily on Apple TV and HomePod—making powerful technology feel natural, intuitive, and accessible to everyone. We're seeking engineers passionate about virtual assistants who are excited to solve complex challenges where software integrates into everyday life.
Description
As a Software Engineer on the Siri Home Devices team, you'll build Siri across both the iOS & tvOS software stacks, from UI down to the frameworks. You'll collaborate with teams across the Siri stack—Experiences, Orchestration, Knowledge/Answers, System Experience, and Apple's apps teams—to create experiences that will surprise and delight millions of users. You'll get exposure to the full Siri stack and the kind of complex, cross-functional work that accelerates careers.
How you'll grow
You'll start with well-scoped work and strong support: design reviews, pairing sessions, and code review from senior engineers who know the platform deeply. As you ship and build judgment, you'll take on broader ownership—larger features, architectural contributions, and more open-ended problems.
You might thrive here if
You seek out feedback and incorporate it quickly.
You ramp into new systems fast and enjoy learning large codebases.
You can make progress when requirements evolve and you ask good questions early.
You take ownership of outcomes, not just tasks, and follow through.
You communicate clearly and directly, especially when something is uncertain.
Technology
We use Swift and Objective-C, though new development is primarily Swift. You don't need Objective-C expertise, but you should be comfortable learning and contributing in a mixed codebase.
Minimum Qualifications
B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Experience shipping iOS or tvOS software in production
Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools or building lightweight automation to accelerate your work.
Proficiency in Swift with strong software design fundamentals
Demonstrated ability to systematically debug and resolve software issues
Strong communication and collaborative skills working in a cross-functional environment
Ability to work onsite at Apple Park in Cupertino, CA three days per week
Preferred Qualifications
Experience building UI with UIKit and/or SwiftUI.
Comfort working in mixed Swift and Objective-C codebases.
Experience in voice assistant technologies or conversational AI systems
Experience with automated testing (Swift Testing, XCTest, XCUITest).
Experience with performance profiling (latency, memory, responsiveness).
