The Critical Infrastructure Operations (CIO) team supports the operations and performance of Apple’s most mission-critical environments. We ensure resilient, safe, and efficient operations for electrical and mechanical infrastructure in Apple data centers and technical facilities worldwide.

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and proactive technician to join our team as a Critical Facilities Technician to support, maintain, and troubleshoot essential infrastructure systems that enable the continuous operations of Apple’s global facilities

Description

The Critical Facilities Technician will play a key role in the maintenance and operation of Apple’s critical infrastructure systems, ensuring maximum uptime and performance in high-availability environments. They will perform preventative and corrective maintenance, respond to emergency situations, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all facility systems. The role will report to the Electrical Systems Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to an inclusive environment through respecting each others’ differences and having the curiosity to learn.

  • Foster and maintain excellent relationships with various stakeholders.

  • Operate and maintain electrical, mechanical, and life safety systems in high-risk, high-dependability environments.

  • Conduct regular inspections of infrastructure and swiftly respond to any irregularities or failures.

  • Collaborate with other technical staff to implement and document repair protocols and improvements.

  • Read and interpret complex system schematics and technical documentation.

  • Ensure strict adherence to all federal, state, and local safety regulations, including PPE and ARC Flash protocols.

  • Support and contribute to energy management initiatives and system upgrades.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a mission-critical facilities environment.

  • Strong knowledge of hyper-scale electrical and mechanical systems.

  • Familiarity with NFPA 70e, OSHA, and other applicable safety standards.

  • Ability to lift 50–75 pounds and work in physically demanding conditions including heights and confined spaces.

  • Willingness to work shifts, be on-call, and respond during emergencies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Electrical apprentice program or trade school graduate preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp new technology and complex workflows.

  • Excellent communication and time management skills.

  • Deep understanding of energy management systems and building operations.

  • Unsurpassed customer focus, with a “Can-Do” attitude.

  • Experience coordinating with vendors, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to provide technical guidance and recommendations under pressure.

  • Strong initiative, flexibility, and a sense of urgency in critical situations.

  • Working knowledge of CMMS, computing platforms including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Mac.

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $49.67 and $74.56/hr, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
