This is an on-site position (Monday through Thursday) based out of our Northbrook, IL office with the flexibility to work remotely on Fridays.
Maximize company sales growth and profitability by overseeing the merchandising sourcing activities for assigned categories. The Associate Sourcing Manager, B2B will be involved in all aspects of sourcing which will require the skills necessary to manage vendor selection, performance management, identify cost saving opportunities, create competitive environments, creatively negotiate and manage on time deliveries.
Primary Responsibility:
Execute vendor strategies and utilize vendor matrix to support Product Design and Development and Buying strategies
Negotiate first cost for new and existing products for the B2B client and product specific requirements
Develop and monitor pre-production activities (sample development, quotes, packaging, etc) to ensure all are completed in a timely manner.
Monitor purchase order milestones to insure on time execution and delivery
Assess and analyze vendor capacities and partner with cross functional teams to support individual client needs while also leveraging volume and relationships that may already be established for the greater company.
Close working partnership with Product Design and Development, Buying, Planning, and Quality and Compliance, ESG and B2B client leads.
Improve vendor reliability through the management of vendor performance
Work with suppliers and brand partners to achieve B2B financial goals.
Assess, react and communicate to appropriate business units on any delayed or missed production or purchase order deadlines.
Assist the Sourcing Manager B2B on products and tasks across brands, departments and product classifications as well as global vendor base.
Participate in ongoing training regarding technology upgrades and new systems applicable to the position and processes related to the client requirements.
Monitor and adhere to key milestone dates on the PDP calendar.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Good reading and written language skills (English), multi-cultural awareness and respect, basic arithmetic, interpersonal skills, telephone presence, data entry skills
Ability to manage a time and action calendar
Knowledge of sourcing capabilities by country / region
Basic understanding of manufacturing processes for assigned categories
Effective email communication with overseas vendors and agents
Ability to be agile and flexible in a changing environment
Ability to travel internationally
Experience Required:
3+ years in a Sourcing or Product Development Role
College Degree required
Minimum Starting Rate: $70,000.00 Annually
Up to: $95,000.00 Annually
Pay ranges will be adjusted upward as needed to comply with applicable state and local law. In addition to your salary, based on your role, associates may be eligible for other compensation including bonuses, sales incentives, and long term incentives.
