American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) is the leading payment card issuer for corporations and small businesses with products and services to help them run and grow their business. Within GCS, the GCS and Enterprise Solutions team leads product development on a portfolio of products including consumer and commercial banking, commercial card, marketing capabilities, partner integrations, and the virtual payments platform. The team also leads product design and research across GCS as well as business development initiatives to support our banking scale.

How will you make an impact in this role?
Our Business Digital Experiences team is leading a critical transformation within Global Commercial Services (GCS)—creating a next-generation digital ecosystem of streamlined, modern experiences that empower businesses to manage and grow with confidence. This work is central to our strategy of delivering integrated, customer-first solutions, making the team’s role both highly visible and mission critical.
As a Senior Manager of Product Development, you will play a key role in advancing this mission by driving delivery across complex initiatives that shape how Middle Market customers engage with American Express. You will translate strategy into execution by ensuring seamless, intuitive capabilities tailored to product and persona needs. This includes simplifying complexity, accelerating delivery timelines, and delivering outcomes at scale.
Success in this role will require exceptional stakeholder management, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to turn ambiguity into clear, actionable plans. By combining digital strategy, executional leadership, and customer-centric thinking, you will help build a best-in-class digital ecosystem—differentiating American Express through experiences that are intuitive, personalized, and designed to scale.
Key Responsibilities:
Engage in early strategic planning and discovery to define MVP scope, point-of-arrival vision, and phased delivery approaches that balance near term impact with long-term scalability
Lead the development of digital capabilities that enhance efficiency, scalability, and customer experiences across the business ecosystem
Drive collaboration with engineering, design, product, business partners and cross-functional teams to align priorities, resolve trade-offs, and accelerate delivery of high impact initiatives
Identify opportunities to enhance existing capabilities to improve scalability and speed to market
Develop solutions that enable seamless integration across systems ensuring cohesive and intuitive digital experiences
Proactively identify inefficiencies in current processes and create strategies to streamline workflows to improve outcomes
Document business architecture and digital capabilities to ensure clarity, alignment, and integration across experiences
Leverage data-driven insights to refine digital capabilities, optimize usability, and drive adoption at scale
Communicate strategies, progress, and outcomes to senior leadership and updates to senior leadership and key partner
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and coaching team members while modeling execution excellence
Minimum Qualifications
5 years of experience in product management, platform development, or related roles within financial services or technology
Proven track record in leading large product initiatives from concept to execution, particularly for digital experiences
Strong ability to collaborate across teams and drive alignment on priorities and execution
Experience defining and delivering product roadmaps, managing multiple priorities while adapting to evolving business needs
Strong analytical skills with experience using data and research to guide decision-making
Proficiency in documenting business solutions to ensure a clear understanding of platform capabilities and their role in product development
Familiarity with agile methodologies and product development frameworks
Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, engineering, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree (MBA) or equivalent
Experience in developing cross-product capabilities with a focus on improving efficiency and usability across multiple customer segments
Strong understanding of customer experience, platform scalability, and digital experience feature development
Ability to align product strategy with business goals and drive meaningful impact
Experience presenting to senior executives and influencing cross-functional teams
Qualifications
Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits
