Summary

News, the app that collects all the stories you want to read, is powered by Apple News Format, which allows publishers to craft beautiful editorial layouts and custom typography. The News Operations team provides support, guidance and training to help publishers make the most of their content on the platform.

Description

We forge strong and lasting relationships with publishers of all sizes, from multinationals to indies. It is the job of our to take the latest updates to Apple News Format from Apple engineering directly to publisher development teams, offer support and gather feedback. You will work with XF teams and develop tools and workflows to improve processes. With a monthly release cycle, you will need to stay on top of product development, work multi-functionally to keep all teams abreast of updates and effectively translate all this for an external audience. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, be detail oriented and have a customer focus. You will have a strong understanding of current web publishing standards and feel confident providing feedback to external project managers. You may also be required to create and deliver presentations to internal and external audiences.

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 skills with experience of framework like React, Angular, or Vue.

• Strong ability to meet with stakeholders and distill requests into meaningful workflows and changes.

• Impeccable written and verbal communication

• Proficient in one or more of scripting languages (system automations / web development): e.g. Python, Ruby, Swift

• Experience preparing and reviewing technical documentation

• A passion for digital publishing and experience with Content Management Systems

• Strong presentation skills

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related subject area, or the equivalent industry experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Excellent debugging skills with the ability to quickly recognize patterns and identify root causes.

• Proficient in using a variety of productivity tools.

• Able to summarize and effectively communicate technical issues and actions to key stakeholders and leadership teams

• Experience working and reporting cross-functionally
