To deliver on a seamless and connected customer experience across channels, the Product Experience Frameworks (PXF) team is driving the roadmap and strategy for American Express. The "PXF" team is an ecosystem of experiences and framework products that enable fast, scalable, and consistent application development, transforming how the Enterprise can drive customer satisfaction, improve product and development experiences and increase interoperability. As a central function for creating these customer experiences, experimentation is an increasingly critical function at American Express to make data-driven and innovative product delivery.
How will you make an impact in this role?
As the Senior Associate Product Manager for Experimentation, you will be joining the experimentation product team to support the development and evolution of our cutting-edge experimentation platform and solutions. The person in this role will be at the forefront of enabling Amex product, engineering and analytics teams to build the best digital experiences via world-class experimentation tooling. Ensuring our technology is integrated within our ecosystem and meeting industry-level innovation and sophistication is a key part of this role.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for product management, strong technical proficiency, a data-centered decision-making mindset, and a desire to learn and grow in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This role involves being an amazing thought-leader and partner with our engineering team to develop new features and products for seamless integration and performance of our platforms. You will also work closely with our Center of Excellence teams to enable user teams through issue resolution, standardize best practices, and develop compelling and engaging communications. You will also go in deep with various functional stakeholders across the enterprise to conduct thorough research and understanding of needs across the enterprise. With hundreds of experiments impacting millions of users every day, this role is critical in building an experimentation culture and improving end user experiences across American Express.
This role reports to Senior Product Manager, Digital Product Management - Experimentation.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with senior product manager to define product vision, strategy, and roadmap for experimentation products and deliver on business outcomes
Assist in defining and prioritizing features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and testing based on user needs and business objectives
Conduct research, gather user feedback, and analyze user behavior of experimentation platform to identify pain points and opportunities for improvement
Leverage understanding of technical systems and architecture to drive to an ideal state of tools and solutions
Work closely with engineering, analytics, and Center of Excellence to ensure successful and on-time product delivery
Manage project timelines, track progress, and ensure timely delivery of product milestones
Create and maintain product documentation, including requirements, user guides, release announcements, and experimentation newsletters
Stay up to date on industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to inform product strategy
Assist in addressing user inquiries, support items, and issues related to experimentation platform to ensure positive user experience
Minimum Qualifications
1-3 years of experience in product management, product design, agile delivery, data science or a related role in a software development environment.
Display a comprehensive understanding of iterative software delivery, MVP and agile methodology & processes
Demonstration of analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in working closely with data analytics teams
Excellent collaborator with ability to foster co-creation across a broad set of partners to ideate, solution, prioritize, and deliver a diverse set of resources and tools accommodating various internal personas
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely to stakeholders and leadership
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team oriented environment
Must be highly independent, with demonstrated ability to self-start, carve opportunities out of white space & ambiguity, and solve problems without significant oversight
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in building out a platform from 0 to 1
1 years experience with experimentation platforms, A/B testing, and data-driven product development (Optimizely, Adobe, LaunchDarkly or similar)
Knowledge of basic experimentation science and principles
Familiarity with enterprise collaboration and product management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and/or Airtable
Qualifications
Salary Range: $60,000.00 to $110,000.00 annually bonus benefits
