Posted: Aug 01, 2025
Weekly Hours: 40
Role Number: 200614791
We are seeking a highly motivated Power Integrity Engineer to join our Mac and Data Center Power Integrity team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring robust and efficient power delivery solutions across high-performance server and Mac platforms. You will define and validate power integrity (PI) requirements for board-level, system-level and rack-level designs, including VRM selection, decoupling strategy, PDN impedance optimization, and noise mitigation across the full power delivery path.
You will collaborate closely with electrical design, thermal, mechanical, and system architecture teams to deliver scalable power solutions that meet stringent performance, reliability, and efficiency goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in power integrity modeling, simulation (SPICE, S-parameter, impedance), and lab validation, along with experience in high-voltage DC systems such as ±400V architectures. If this is you, come join our team!
Description
As a Power Integrity Engineer for Data Center and Mac platforms, you will lead the design, simulation, and validation of power delivery networks (PDNs) for next-generation server and networking systems. Your responsibilities will include modeling end-to-end PDN from high-voltage input (e.g., ±400V DC) to point-of-load regulators, defining decoupling strategies, performing impedance and noise analysis, and validating power integrity metrics across a broad range of operating conditions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including system architects, thermal and mechanical engineers, system EEs, board designers, signal integrity engineers, and firmware developers to ensure power delivery meets performance, thermal, and reliability targets.
You will also drive root cause analysis and resolution of power-related issues, while guiding best practices in layout, grounding, and power sequencing. A strong understanding of PI tools (e.g., PowerSI, SPICE, SIMPLIS, etc.), lab equipment (e.g., VNAs, oscilloscopes, PDN analyzers), and system-level power architecture is essential for success in this role.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field with 10+ years of experience in power integrity design, simulation, and validation.
Solid understanding of power delivery network (PDN) design principles, including VRM selection, decoupling strategies, and impedance optimization.
Proficiency in PI simulation tools such as SPICE, SIMPLIS, PowerSI, or similar, and hands-on experience with lab equipment like oscilloscopes, VNAs, and PDN analyzers.
Experience with high-voltage DC systems (e.g., ±400V) and low-voltage conversions for server or data center platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical/Computer Engineering with a focus on power systems, signal/power integrity, or related fields with 5+ years of experience
Experience with end-to-end power architecture in data center or high-performance computing systems, including ±400V DC distribution and high-efficiency power conversion.
Deep knowledge of PDN modeling techniques, target impedance calculation, and transient/noise sensitivity analysis across multi-rail systems.
Familiarity with system-level co-design involving thermal, mechanical, and SI/PI trade-offs.
Proven track record of debugging power-related issues in complex platforms during bring-up and validation phases.
Experience collaborating with component vendors and PCB layout teams to define power delivery requirements and constraints.
Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations to both technical and cross-functional audiences
