As a leader of our Sensing Systems team, you'll design, develop, and launch the next generation of Touch ID sensors, integral to the security and seamless user experience of Apple's iconic products. You'll bring devices to life, enabling them to understand and respond to their users in ways previously unimagined.

Description

By joining the Touch ID team you will work with a passionate engineering team in a pivotal role leading the development of cutting-edge fingerprint biometric sensors. You will be engaging in the entire sensor development lifecycle, from concept to mass production. You will be applying your expertise in analog and digital circuits to design sensing modules and evaluate coexistence, electrical performance and product integration. You'll tackle challenges at the intersection of analog sensing, signal integrity, miniaturization, and security where micron-scale decisions impact billions of daily authentications.

You are a proactive electrical engineering leader with a passion for solving complex technical challenges and building and developing high performing teams. You have a proven ability to influence cross-functional design and decisions through complex technical issues.

You are a strategic thinker with a strong foundation of analog circuit fundamentals and a proven track record of developing electrical designs. You're a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills and a drive to push the boundaries of innovation. You will bring experience representing your team's work in high-stakes forums, shaping technical strategy through persuasive communication, and mentoring others in presenting their work effectively.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong EE analog fundamentals with demonstrated experience in all phases of circuit design and development.

  • Leadership experience managing engineers and cross-functional teams.

  • Proven ability to present complex technical topics clearly and concisely, influencing decisions and securing buy-in from senior leadership with experience deep diving into complex technical challenges, identifying root cause hypotheses and solutions in a cross-functional environment.

  • Experience creating engineering design, requirement, and specification documents.

  • BS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of lead or management experience

  • Experience with product development process from early architecture through mass production.

  • Experience with sensor designs or biometric system development

  • Experience using AI tools to augment or improve workflow.

  • Proficiency in MATLAB and Python scripting tools.

  • Experience with statistical analysis of production data (JMP, Tableau).

  • Experience in FEA, simulation, and modeling tools (Comsol, ANSYS, Maxwell).

  • Proficiency with test equipment (oscilloscope, meters, etc.) & circuit simulation (SPICE).

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field)
