The U.S. Consumer Services Team (USCS) is responsible for our suite of consumer products, services, and experiences in the U.S., including our premium, cobrand, cash back, and lending portfolios, Membership Rewards, Global Travel & Lifestyle Services, the Centurion Lounge network, our Global Dining and Resy businesses, U.S. Consumer Banking, and best-in-class marketing programs across customer, prospect, and partner channels. The USCS team is focused on making membership an indisputable competitive advantage and helping each other become better leaders every day.
Within USCS’ Travel & Lifestyle (TLS) team, the Global Lounge Experiences team is a high impact group, responsible for the strategic definition and delivery of the Global Lounge Collection benefit to Amex’s global premium Card Members. The Global Lounge Collection benefit encompasses the Centurion Lounge network and access to network lounges through partnerships (i.e., Delta, Priority Pass).
The Chief of Staff, Global Lounge Experiences supports the Vice President & General Manager (VP/GM) of this organization and will be a member of the leadership team. This individual will be responsible for a wide range of activities including strategic planning, budget management and oversight, development of strategic presentations for leadership and colleague engagement. The successful candidate will possess outstanding thought leadership, strategic thinking, financial acumen, communication, and organizational skills, and will have a proven track record of operating independently and within a high performing, fast-paced team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Work directly with the VP/GM, Global Lounge Experiences on all critical business, strategic and functional priorities
Partner directly with the Global Lounge Experiences leadership team to support colleague engagement, strategic priorities, streamline operations and drive efficiencies across the business
Lead and coordinate executive level communications and content development, including town halls, leadership meetings, communications inside and outside of the team
Manage investment planning and budget management, including operating expenses (OPEX)
Champion all colleague engagement and performance management activities across the team, providing thought leadership and council to the Global Lounge Experiences leadership team and broader organization
Own ad-hoc strategic projects and initiatives
Minimum Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter who is able to effectively multi-task and lead projects with limited guidance. The individual must be a strong communicator, a relationship builder, and ideally will have strategy and/or client services experience.
Strong business and financial acumen, a passion for team culture and success, comfortability working in white space, and a commitment to outstanding leadership
Composed and confident communicator with exemplary verbal and written communication skills who can remain calm under pressure while effectively influencing, multitasking, and reprioritizing as business needs evolve
Ability to build strong relationships with all band levels and work effectively on a collaborative, globally dispersed team
Strong sense of integrity with ability to handle highly sensitive issues and maintain confidentiality
High intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn. Unafraid to ask questions and actively engage to make positive and meaningful contributions
Qualifications
Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefits
