Job Description
The Specialty Senior Finance Forecasting Manager will co-create the strategic development and execution of the sales forecast analytical process for key specialty ID team brands within AbbVie. This role is pivotal in generating accurate and timely projections of commercial product volumes across Plan, LBE, LRP, Portfolio, and Actual submissions. The Manager is expected to build and maintain comprehensive business acumen through robust communication with a broad spectrum of cross-functional partners, including Marketing & Sales Management, Marketing Analytics and Business Insights, and Commercial Finance leaders.
Responsibilities:
Leads and develops accurate product sales projections to be utilized in Plan, LBE, LRP and Portfolio submissions (including market and competitive landscape forecasts) – using sound analytical assumptions and effective communication of rationale/methodology with close collaboration and guidance from the Specialty Finance Director for Team 1 and Team ID and cooperation with Specialty Team ID brand team, marketing team and VP.
Streamline and support the month-end close process by preparing Price, Pipeline, and Demand variance reports and delivering accurate Close commentary.
Facilitate clear and accurate communication of monthly actual sales results and future volume forecasts to Commercial VP’s and Marketing Directors, enabling informed decision-making at the leadership level.
Act as a strategic advisor, working closely with Commercial, Pricing, Finance, Market Analytics, and Business Insights teams to address complex business challenges, offering data-driven solutions through advanced analytical problem solving.
Deliver ad-hoc analytical support for critical business needs, including product launch scenarios and channel/product mix impacts, continuously integrating the latest business intelligence to refine and optimize forecasting processes.
Understand business dynamics and ensur the latest intelligence is included in the forecast to help Marketing/Sales teams make appropriate decisions.
Qualifications
BS/BA in Analytics, Mathematics/Statistics, Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or Marketing
Requires 7-10 years progressive accounting or finance experience in analytics, forecasting, and/or financial planning and analysis
Must have strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills, along with good interpersonal skills to effectively work with all levels of management
Ability to triangulate a wide variety of data sets and analytics (e.g. market research, competitive events, prescriptions, epidemiology, patient flow, etc.) to inform forecasting and financial impacts
Ability to prioritize and quickly understand issues and assess data integrity is critical due to challenging deadlines
Strong Microsoft Excel and financial modelling skills are required; strong PowerPoint skills are preferred
Ability to work independently and self-starter, supporting the business and forecasting leadership in variety of locations
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Previous pharmaceutical and forecasting experience preferred

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. ?
