Summary
The Interaction and Human Factors team is looking for a Software Prototyper to research and build the next generation of sensor-based human-computer interactions. We are an
eclectic group with backgrounds in human factors research, signal processing, machine learning, and more. As a member of this team, you will sit at the boundary between prototyping, research, and production - often switching rapidly between exploratory research and product-focused development to enable interaction concepts to make the leap from prototype to product.
Description
As a Software Prototyper, you will investigate new technologies, prototype concepts, build frameworks for benchmarking human performance, and drive technical development needed to bring ideas to life. You will work on a wide array of sensing modalities such as image/video, multi-touch, and force sensing. Our team works closely with multidisciplinary teams in engineering and design to deliver actionable insights to drive key decisions for Apple products including Mac, iPhone, iPad, Vision Pro, and more.
Minimum Qualifications
Expertise in software architecture and development, particularly for real-time sensor processing and interfaces
Experience building interactive prototypes or applications
Experience working with sensing technologies and data sources such as image, video, input devices, audio, etc.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering/Computer Science, Human Computer Interaction, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
Algorithm and mathematics fundamentals in statistics, signal processing, machine learning, and state machine design
Proficiency with scripting, data processing, data visualization and/or numerical analysis
Experience working with human researchers to establish critical research tracks, interpret results, and apply learnings to product development
3+ years experience working in a relevant field
Master’s or doctorate degree in computer science, human-computer interaction, or other relevant area
