The Platform Framework and Tools team is looking for an engineering manager to lead and grow the Embedded Runtime team. The Embedded Runtime team develops Apple’s internal RTOS for embedded microcontrollers in our SOCs and products.
Description
The Embedded Runtime Manager is responsible for the development and evolution Apple’s RTOS. Apple’s RTOS is a key enabling technology for features and entire products within Apple’s range.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Growing and strengthening the Embedded Runtime team by hiring and retaining top-tier engineering talent; Developing an ambitious, innovative software and release strategy supporting Mac, iPad, iPhone, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and HomePod product development Completing the team roadmap with high quality work on tight schedules; Partnering with the multi-functional teams to gather and refine product requirements for Apple’s RTOS; Identifying and vocalizing risk areas during product and technology development; Promoting a team culture that encourages innovation and sets high standards for quality and productivity.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience leading a low-level software team
Experience with firmware, device driver, or kernel-level development
Solid understanding of operating system fundamental
Knowledge of embedded hardware and computer architecture
Preferred Qualifications
Proven track record of successful and timely product delivery
Strong communication skills
Bachelor’s degree in CS, CE, or EE, or equivalent industry experience
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $190,700 and $329,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
