The Global Servicing Control Management Risk Identification, Assessment, Testing, and Reporting (RATR) team is responsible for identifying, assessing, mitigating, and reporting operational risks across Global Servicing business unit (BU) processes. Our mission is to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and American Express policies while strengthening the BU’s resilience through a structured and transparent approach to inherent and residual risk management.

We are seeking a Manager to play a key role in embedding strong control management practices within Global Servicing’s day-to-day operations. This position will involve close collaboration with multiple stakeholders across business units, functional areas, and global regions.

Key Responsibilities but not limited to:

The Manager, Global Servicing Risk Identification, Assessment, Testing & Reporting will:

  • Partner with business process owners to identify operational risks across business processes and systems.

  • FacilitateRisk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA ), ensuring alignment with regulatory updates and internal control standards.

  • Lead or support additional assessments and testing/QA programs to validate compliance with Amex policy and regulatory expectations.

  • Conduct independent control monitoring and compile insights on key operational risk trends, activities, and emerging issues.

  • Proactively identify high-risk areas for intervention through data analysis, alerts, and testing; lead quality assurance and vertical process reviews as needed.

  • Review and refine control categorizations, ensuring accurate mapping of controls to risks and processes across Global Servicing.

  • Maintain and update risk registers and profiles, ensuring consistent documentation and transparency.

  • Support enterprise-wide sharing of risk insights, best practices, and emerging risk themes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience in operational risk management, internal audit, or related risk/control discipline.

  • Strong understanding of operational risk management lifecycle activities.

  • Demonstrated project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience with process governance and familiarity with regulatory frameworks, policies, and operational standards.

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, evaluate risk scenarios, and synthesize findings effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or a related field; advanced degrees (MBA, MSc) or relevant certifications preferred.

  • Proven experience in identifying and assessing operational risks across complex processes and systems.

  • Hands-on experience facilitating risk assessments and testing programs to meet regulatory and internal standards.

  • Expertise in control monitoring, root cause analysis, and identification of control improvement opportunities.

  • Strong ability to interpret and communicate thematic risk reporting and insights.

  • Experience within the financial services industry is highly desirable.

Qualifications

Salary Range: $89,250.00 to $150,250.00 annually bonus benefits
