About Global Real Estate & Workplace Experience (GREWE)
Global Real Estate and Workplace Experience (GREWE) is a global team at American Express (Amex) responsible for the full lifecycle of planning, execution, and operations of Amex real estate. GREWE supports over 75,000 Amex colleagues and contractors in over eight million square feet of property located in 59 countries. Our real estate portfolio consists of large full-service campuses, office buildings, sales offices, airport lounges and data centers. The global GREWE team is comprised of ~100 Amex full time staff that leverage ~5,000 contractors and is part of the broader Global Servicing Group organization which delivers shared business services to colleagues across the enterprise.

How will you make an impact in this role?
The Project Manager plays a pivotal role in delivering one of American Express’ most significant global investments—a flagship headquarters that will define the future of how we work, collaborate, and represent our brand.
This role is accountable for leading the end-to-end execution of a complex, high-visibility capital project, shaping a world-class workplace that brings together colleagues, customers, and innovation at scale. From early concept through design, construction, and operational readiness, this leader will orchestrate cross-functional teams, global partners, and executive stakeholders to deliver a landmark destination that embodies the American Express brand, culture, and ambition.
This role serves as the Third-Party Operations (TPO) lead for project-specific GSM / Procurement activities, overseeing vendor engagement, sourcing execution, and commercial coordination to ensure strong governance, risk management, and value delivery in alignment with American Express standards.
The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding internal and external teams to ensure that capital projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Managing design, construction and integration as well as providing input on project budgets, change orders, schedule, risk and handover, and completion.
The candidate will have strong technical knowledge, organizational and collaborations skills. They must have strong contract and stakeholder management skills and proficiency in collaborating across large complex project teams of engineers, architects, and other professions to ensure the project is designed and executed effectively.
Other deliverables include:
Manage external stakeholders including architects, engineers, and other key vendors to deliver compliant projects.
Analyze, track, and effectively manage critical milestone activities to ensure all key milestones are met.
Ensures delivery in accordance with project governance, processes, and systems
Production of formal weekly project status reports and input into other weekly and monthly reports as required.
Monitor the progress of multiple construction projects simultaneously to ensure that the approved design standards are applied correctly.
Manage Third Party vendors and interface between all suppliers through monthly trackers and weekly reviews.
Manage the flow of project information between the project team through regular meetings and written communications.
Supports the scheduling of different phases of a project based on established deadlines from design, permitting through construction, operational readiness, and handover.
Manages the construction budget and collaborates with the Project Controls lead on Change Control and cost reporting.
Supports the coordination of all construction activities and logistics with relevant project teams and partners as required.
Communicates regularity with Project Lead, Project Controls and Design Lead and aligned on communication to Key Partners at all stages of design, construction, and hand over.
Helps facilitate the Construction planning, tracking, and reporting against key project Deliverables
Ensure application of best practice on all projects.
Foster a collaborative, accountable culture across project teams and external partners.
Promotes proactive communication, problem-solving, and ownership at all levels.
Manages the coordination and logistics between base building and interior fit-out to deliver a world class facility for American Express
Executive Engagements:
This role will have some interaction with the Senior Vice President of GREWE. This project manager will demonstrate the ability to interact with these senior executives with ease, and also dive deep into details when necessary, interacting with project team members at all levels.
Minimum Qualifications:
10 years’ experience in project management or construction management for major commercial or corporate real estate projects.
10 years’ experience as a Project Manager managing major CM’s, GC’s, and construction trades as third-party vendors to major corporations.
Strong understanding cost, schedule, and risk on major capital projects.
Experience in commissioning and operational readiness.
Experience in LEED projects.
Experience in projects with QAD & TCAP permitting process.
Exceptional organizational skills and ability to focus on details while not losing sight of the big picture.
Strong team player, ability to take direction and remain flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
Primavera, Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience
Project Management , Engineering or Construction Management Experience

Salary Range: $103,750.00 to $174,750.00 annually bonus benefits
