Job Description
Purpose
The Manager, Global Direct Procurement Process supports the Global Procurement Process Lead/Associate Director within the Global Process Organization (GPO). This role will be responsible for driving operational excellence, supporting process governance, and collaborating across global teams to advance end-to-end procurement process initiatives. This position ensures continuity and process expertise for critical Direct Procurement programs and transformational efforts.
Responsibilities
Function as a global point of contact within the Global Process Organization (GPO) for Procurement Direct PTP program initiatives, collaborating closely with the Global Process Lead.
Support end-to-end process governance to promote the adoption of global processes and standards.
Leading and monitoring process transformation and continuous improvement initiatives related to Direct PTP, including standardization, simplification, and technology innovation.
Partner collaboratively with global and regional teams (Direct PTP, SSO Hubs, BPS, Financial Shared Services, Business Technology Solutions) and interact with other business functions to ensure effective process integration and stakeholder engagement.
Contribute to identifying future Direct PTP optimization opportunities and provide insights for operational improvements.
Collaborate with ERP program teams, supporting alignment on global standards and deployment of enabling technologies.
Provide operational process expertise during shared service migrations, business expansions (M&A/divestitures), and other change initiatives.
Identify and bridge process gaps across operating models with cross-functional impact areas (QA, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Vendor Master, Material Master, etc.), including facilitating requirements gathering.
Monitor and report on key global metrics to track effectiveness of improvement initiatives and support the adoption and sustainability of new processes.
Assist in developing solid business cases for new initiatives, helping prepare executive presentations in alignment with overall AbbVie strategy.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in global process roles within Direct Procurement or related functions (life sciences experience preferred).
Experience in business process integration, including hands-on involvement with integrated testing (verification, UAT, regression) and training delivery.
Working knowledge of SAP S4 HANA and familiarity with procurement data flows and upstream/downstream business impacts.
Understanding of MRP/planning systems and their integration with procurement processes.
Demonstrated success leading or supporting cross-functional project teams for process governance and improvement.
Strong communication and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex processes and regulations into clear, actionable guidance.
Experience supporting or managing global Direct Procurement projects, preferably in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
Awareness of business practices across Direct Procurement, Finance, Quality, Legal, and related functions.
Experience in driving continuous improvement; Lean Six Sigma or similar operational excellence certification is a plus.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. ?

Salary: $106,500 - $202,500
