The Vision Products Group (VPG) is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help us push the limits of the next generation of interactive and immersive experiences on our platform. This team is working with some of Apple’s most advanced technologies including spatial computing, augmented reality (AR), ARKit and Metal, to create ground-breaking new products. Description

Apple makes the newest technologies accessible to create amazing and delightful user experiences. You will have the opportunity to work in a team enhancing the system experience and developing system-level frameworks and technologies and enabling these 3D interactive experiences, in close collaboration with creative teams across Apple and VPG. The candidate for this role will be comfortable working in a dynamic and creative environment. Engineers are expected to work quickly and smartly to help determine the viability of ideas and technologies. You will partner with our extraordinary team of technologists, artists, and designers and work closely with organizations across Apple (Human Interface, Applications, Frameworks, etc.) to design, architect, and implement applications, frameworks, and experiences that will delight, inspire, and empower millions of people every day.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/MS in CS/CE and/or equivalent with 3+ years of experience

  • Ability to understand end to end architectures and functional details of a complex system with multiple inter-dependencies

  • Experience working with audio visual media

  • Strong software development experience in C / C++ for multi-threaded/systems development

  • Outstanding analytical, programming and debugging skills

  • Excellent communication skills, ability to collaborate and deliver under aggressive schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the field of video streaming, including knowledge of commonly used streaming protocols such as HLS, DASH, WebRTC, etc.

  • Proficiency in Swift and/or Python

  • Understanding of networking fundamentals

  • Experience in low latency streaming

  • Demonstrated ability to work with large cross-functional teams
