The SEG PMU Engineering Program Management team at Apple is seeking a dynamic and resourceful Engineering Program Specialist (EPS) to lead the overall PMU EPS effort to support PMU HW development for silicon validation.

This role is pivotal in creating process and operational efficiencies while supporting and developing the EPS best practice to be adaptable all PMU teams. The EPS will partner with various stakeholders, including Engineering program managers, engineering teams, global commodity managers, and finance teams, to ensure effective program execution and process optimization. In this role, the EPS will be responsible to collaborate with EPM to supporting SiVal HW build execution activities and ensure on-time HW delivery.

The role will also execute issue resolution, support configuration management, and maintain build matrices. The EPS will work closely with engineering teams to create and release Bills of Materials (BOMs), part numbers, Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and related technical drawings and documents. Identifying risks and developing mitigation strategies will be crucial, as will facilitating conflict resolution within and between teams. The EPS will also work with key stakeholders to provide timely issue resolution and manage critical paths as priorities shift. Continuous improvement will be a key focus, as the EPS will work with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency in development processes. The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and handle competing priorities will be vital for success in this role.

Description

The Engineering Program Specialist (EPS) drives hardware build execution and supports program operations throughout the silicon validation lifecycle. This includes managing BOMs, change orders, materials, logistics, and vendor coordination to ensure on-time delivery. As a hands-on partner to EPMs and DRIs, the EPS bridges hardware design and manufacturing teams to maintain build health and drive issue resolution.

  • Partner with engineering program managers, hardware engineering teams, global commodity managers, and finance to ensure effective program execution and operational efficiency.

  • Lead NPI build planning activities, including onboarding and training new Contract Manufacturers (CMs) and establishing strong working relationships.

  • Own and manage system-level Bills of Materials (BOMs), including part number creation and complex BOM structuring.

  • Create, manage, and process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Manufacturer Change Orders (MCOs), and deviations.

  • Generate purchase requisitions and manage purchase order (PO) processes, including invoice reconciliation and goods receipt tracking.

  • Oversee hardware allocation, material schedules, deliverables, and logistics for development builds.

  • Develop risk mitigation strategies, resolve build and configuration issues, and maintain build matrices and documentation.

  • Ensure clear communication of changes affecting material lead times, logistics readiness, and shipping plans.

  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams on the release of BOMs, part numbers, ECOs, and related technical documentation.

  • Identify program risks, drive cross-functional mitigation efforts, and facilitate issue resolution.

  • Foster collaboration across engineering, operations, and vendors to achieve cost, quality, and schedule goals.

  • Work with stakeholders to manage shifting priorities, ensure timely issue resolution, and protect critical paths.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives with cross-functional engineering, operations, and configuration management teams.

  • Develop and maintain scalable, streamlined processes that enable EPS team success.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while effectively handling competing priorities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree with 3+ years or MA/MS degree and related HW development experience

  • Experience supporting full module/system, manage build matrix including PCBA and mechanical components is a must

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of BOM structuring, with hands-on experience using Agile PLM and hardware development platforms

  • Proficiency in Nimbus, Enfold, Teamcenter with strong data management and organization skills

  • Experience onboarding new suppliers and managing both local and overseas Contract Manufacturers (CMs)

  • Data management with coding experience (Python, SQL) is preferred

  • Strong critical thinking and adaptability in time-sensitive or fast-changing environments

  • Experience working with overseas vendors and cross-functional global teams

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $118,500 and $244,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
