Description
We’re hiring a Patent Attorney to help protect Apple’s rapidly evolving operating systems, ecosystem technologies, device security, interoperability capabilities, and software development. You’ll lead engagements with the business to build and leverage the associated worldwide patent portfolio and strategy. Responsibilities includes identifying patentable inventions; securing high-quality, strategic patent assets; providing expert technical and legal analysis; handling patent challenges; providing guidance in support of patent transactions and licensing matters; assigning and managing work performed by outside law firms; and working with engineering and other business organizations to understand priorities and challenges. This position also will provide cross-functional support for acquisitions, regulatory, IP licensing, enforcement, standards, and litigation activities.
Minimum Qualifications
6+ years of patent experience, such as drafting and prosecuting patent assets, developing patent strategies, conducting patent analyses;
Experience working with software operating systems, security and encryption technologies, and software development; and
Juris Doctor, USPTO Registration and BS degree in computer science or related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in computer science or software engineering; and/or
In-house experience;
experience working in and/or providing support for standards, open source, transactions, regulatory, M&A, and litigation efforts;
