Description

We are looking for an automation engineer who thinks beyond typical testing —someone who builds advanced tools and tests that enables our team to ship faster, safer, and at Apple scale. You'll pioneer test automation that don't just catch bugs, but prevent entire classes of issues from reaching our users. In our AI-first world, you'll leverage cutting-edge LLMs and machine learning to create self-healing tests, intelligent failure analysis, and predictive quality insights.

You'll be the quality guardian for products that power education and business worldwide. Working independently yet collaboratively, you will:

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years crafting test automation for complex, large-scale systems

  • Tools architect – You've built testing and automation tools others depend on

  • Multi-language fluency – Swift/Java for robust solutions, Python/Ruby for quick wins

  • AI & LLM integration – Experience leveraging AI tools for test generation, failure analysis, or intelligent automation

  • Detective skills – You don't just find bugs, you hunt down their root causes

  • Communication excellence – You translate technical complexity into clear insights

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS CS/EE/CE or equivalent experience

  • XCTest/Swift expertise

  • iOS/macOS testing experience

  • Advanced AI/ML testing

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $163,300 and $290,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
