Description
This role is part of Worldwide Logistics/Operations based in Sunnyvale CA, specifically within WW Logistics Security team, reporting to the WW Logistics Security Senior Manager.
The position primarily involves tactical management and execution of the WW Logistics Security Program, which includes (high-level): Securing in-transit Apple assets to reduce freight theft; Quantifying & addressing supply chain security risks/threats/losses; Managing Audit & Assessment Programs; Supporting Investigations, trending/metrics mgmt; and Implementing security initiatives, projects & best practices globally.
This is a fast-moving, dynamic environment where flexibility & adaptability are key attributes needed for success. The selected candidate will posses excellent project & time-mgmt skills, will be an innovator of new security techniques, technology & processes, requiring only limited direction to complete program objectives.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Global DC and Site Assessment Program Management - Via security vendor, program manages an on-going annual security audit and assessment program of Apple DCs, transportation Supplier facilities (CFS, cross-dock, airline ground-handlers, pre-pull yards, trans-load locations, etc.). Management of Security vendor, scheduling, performance/KPIs, spends, follow up and corrective actions.
Cargo Theft Tracker & Metrics Management - Facilitate and manage the cargo theft tracker for all reported thefts. This includes: bi-monthly reporting, regular meetings with extended security team, investigative updates, weekly meetings with each core Supplier (Security representation), identify corrective actions, facilitate the closure of those corrective actions with regions and suppliers.
Security Specs & Protocols Management - Document, maintain and communicate specifications related to security, i.e. Freight Security Requirements, Pallet Assembly Security, Handing Security, Freight Loss Notification, ULD Build-up, etc.
Security Spends Management - Work closely with AP/Finance and Procurement to open/manage security vendor POs, operate to ad-hoc budgets (project-based), to include current and future security vendors performing authorized services for Apple WW & Regional Logistics Security.
Other Key Program Management, Investigations Support, Risk Mitigation and Cross-functional Engagement, as required; >$50k/Theft Trends support; GPS Program (w/ vendor); Escorts (w/ vendor); Alignment with NPI, Trade-Compliance, Procurement, NPS, AIS, Global Security, Sustainability/Green, SecureShip, etc.
Other tactical management, implementation and execution as part of the WW Logistics Security Program
Minimum Qualifications
BA/BS Business degree; prefer Supply Chain Management/Logistics, Criminal Justice or related fields.
At least 8 years experience in logistics/supply chain industry; High-tech, pharma or other high-value Shipper/Manufacturer/Distributor strongly preferred.
At least 2 years experience specifically in Logistics Security, Supply Chain Security, Loss Prevention, Corp/Global Security, or Law Enforcement (Cargo Theft focus)
Subject matter knowledge of TAPA standards, C-TPAT Program Requirements and other Cargo Theft preventative industry/government programs.
Able to influence others effectively, forge strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Proven problem solving, analytical, gap-identification and follow-up/closure skills.
Able to manage multiple projects/objectives simultaneously, work under pressure and meet agreed, and often, tight timelines.
Must have a “command presence”, excellent communication & interpersonal skills, dealing w/ internal stakeholders and Suppliers (Operations and Security)
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to travel (<10%), domestic and international.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience presenting at the executive level as well as driving communications across multiple global regional partner teams
Capable of working individually and as part of a multifunctional team.
Able to identify key learnings and best practices from the regional partners for potential global standardization opportunities.
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $110,500 and $166,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
