We have an extraordinary opportunity for a senior level engineer to drive and lead technical engagements between Apple and silicon suppliers working on groundbreaking technologies.
The Custom Silicon Management Group provides critical custom silicon for most Apple products including iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Macs. We are looking for a remarkable Silicon Validation Lead to partner and collaborate with multi-functional teams and external vendors to guide their chip validation efforts for the next generation of products.
Description
You will be responsible for validation and quality of custom silicon. You are expected to:
Work closely with internal & external teams to review specifications, drive improvement of existing validation test plans & methodologies, and to ensure high quality test coverage on the first revision of silicon.
Collaborate with chip/module/system and FW teams to understand the functional & performance goals of the design.
Provide technical guidance on validation implementation and execution on pre and post silicon (FPGA and silicon).
Have strong communication skills, excellent multi-functional capabilities to influence and achieve best outcomes for all involved.
Minimum Qualifications
BS and relevant industry experience
Industry experience in Silicon Validation
Experience with validation methodologies such as creating test plans, debugging, stress testing, and FMEA of IPs and/or full-chip
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of relevant industry experience
A proven record and keen interest to devise functional and stress tests to “break the chip”
Advanced experience with validation environments, including pre-silicon (e.g. FPGA) and post-silicon validation, scripting, test automation and regression.
Fluency and working knowledge of SOC & System architecture/design
Knowledge of industry standard interfaces, such as I2C, SPMI, USB, SPI, MIPI
Validation experience with relatively complex digital and/or mixed signal chips
Bare-metal firmware or ROM code development experience
Design verification experience
Should be a phenomenal teammate with excellent social and communications skills and the passion to take on diverse challenges
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $172,100 and $305,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
