Apple is looking for a world-class Display Process Engineer to develop state-of-the art color filter material, processes and equipment for innovative Apple products! This is a highly collaborative role that requires working closely with external display partners and internal engineering teams to develop next generation OLED displays. We work at a fast pace and require everyone to be highly self-motivated. A successful candidate needs to be a flexible thinker and be able to problem solve outside of their respective technical area.
Description
Work closely with cross functional teams in California, external material suppliers and display partners to develop, bring-up and qualify color filter materials, processes and equipment to meet the performance requirements of new display products
Lead evaluations and development of new color filter materials, equipment and technologies
Identify root cause for failure modes with structured approach and provide corrective actions or Design of Experiments (DOE) to internal teams and external partners
Quickly solve problems faced during the development stages of products transitioning from proof-of-concept modules to high volume manufacturing
Collaborate with internal and external partners in process improvement and yield enhancement
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Physics, Electrical, Mechanical, Material, Optics Engineering or related with 5+ years of relevant experience
- Experience in color filter processes, material and/or equipment
- Experience with photo-lithography, thin films deposition and etching, or surface and interfacial science, material chemistry
- Experience performing process DOEs and failure analysis for process optimization
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD or Master’s degree in Physics, Electrical, Mechanical, Material, Optics Engineering or related with 3+ years of experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proactive attitude and team-working spirit
- Willingness and ability for up to 10% travel
- Understanding of color science
- Experience with OLED, glass-based encapsulation or thin film encapsulation, or semiconductor processes and equipment
- Mass production engineering experience – preferably in displays
- Experience with modelling and/or simulation
- Experience with thin film metrology inspection
- Experience with big data analysis to support mass production process analysis
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
