We are looking for an iOS Software Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for data collection software on both prototype and shipping hardware! The ideal candidate will have experience working with sensing systems and a track record of delivering iOS applications and developing talent on their team.
Description
Lead your team in collaborating with cross functional partners (e.g. Electrical/Firmware, Mechanical, Research, Data Science) in the joint goal of inventing, researching, and validating new sensing methods and features
Design software systems and solutions that support development, research and validation of new sensors and hardware, by enabling data exchange, collection, visualization and user interaction with prototypes
Develop GUI based programs, services, frameworks and command-line tools
Solve challenging problems like processing signal data, synchronizing data streams, understanding meaning from data and measured signals, and creating sensor data visualizations leveraging traditional approaches and emerging ones like 3D and immersive data visualization and experiences, generative AI (LLMs) and machine learning
Develop your team to cultivate engineering excellence and embody our core values: deliver high quality, reliable, robust, secure, privacy aware and well crafted software, data systems, tools and frameworks
Enjoy the journey and become comfortable with the process of working on new technologies in a research setting, often years ahead of product launch cycle
Create experiences that are engaging and easy to use
Minimum Qualifications
BS or M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
5+ years of proven experience in software development, or equivalent experience
3+ years leading a software development team
Hands-on Swift/SwiftUI experience or Objective-C/UIKit supplemented with a good understanding of Swift and SwiftUI
Preferred Qualifications
Passion for product ownership and track record of product development
Able to coordinate the efforts of multiple teams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Self-directed: the ability to drive a project from a simple idea to production
Experience with sensing or video systems
Experience integrating with lower level software or firmware
Strong system level understanding
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $219,300 and $378,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
